Publication Perception Towards Halal Awareness And Its Correlation With Halal Certification Among Muslims(IDOSI Publications, 2013) ;A. Siti Mashitoh, ;A.R. Norhayati RafidaA.R. AlinaAbstract: Halal certification creates challenges to the industries due to the specification given in the policy.Consolidation of the Halal certification can be obtained by considering the role of the Halal certificatestowards enhancing the reputation associated with Halal certification. The objectives of this study are to examinethe level of awareness on Halal products and the respondents’ perceptions towards Halal Certification and toidentify the differences between gender and acknowledgement of IHRAM towards the relationship betweenthe awareness of Halal and Halal certification. A survey was carried out using a questionnaire measuring thetwo variables using aLikert scales ranging from 1 - 5. The findings revealed that there is a moderate andpositive relationship between the respondents’ awareness on Halal and their perception towards Halalcertification. The greater the number of people who get to know IHRAM, the higher the awareness on Halal andthis increase the need for Halal certification among consumers. It implies that increases in awareness leveltowards Halal issues are correlated with increases in their perception towards Halal certification. As a continuityof this research, an extension that includes bigger sampling size may be more beneficial in explaining therelationship. Key words: Halal Certification Awareness IHRAM Correlation
