Halim TamuriThe promotion of thinking culture in Islam is recognised by the society nowadays. Thus, the encouragement of thinking culture helps to prevent the blind thinking culture also known as taqlid. The idea of higher order thinking skill (HOTs) has been emphasized by Ministry of Education in teaching and learning process including Islamic Education (IE). However, IE distinguished the culture in four disciplines namely Quran and Hadith, Akidah, Fikah and Akhlak, which require unique approach for each discipline. This article predetermined to analyse the application of HOTs in this four distinguish discipline. The method used in this study is document analysis. Previous researches and verses in Quran that related to thinking skills were systematic examined. This research suggests that HOTs to be categorized into identical themes that illustrate HOTs in IE. The research concluded, HOTs in IE are unique by its knowledge area. This process was influenced by the breadth and depth of knowledge that individual possesses. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Hubungan antara efikasi kendiri dengan kualiti Guru Pendidikan Islam Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Malaysia(Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2013) ;Noornajihan JaafarAb. Halim TamuriKajian ini bertujuan untuk rneninjau tahap efikasi kendiri (EK), tahap kualiti guru Pendidikan Islam (GPI) sekolah menengah kebangsaan di Semenanjung Malaysia dan hubungan antara dua pernboleh ubah tersebut. Kajian ini adalah berbentuk tinjauan yang rnenggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan sod selidik rnerupakan instrumen utama kajian. Teknik pensampelan kelornpok atas kelompok digunakan bagi rnenentukan sampel kajian. Saiz sampel yang terlibat dalam kajian ini adalah seramai 544 orang GPI yang rnewakili populasi eramai 8562 orang GPI di SMK sernenanjung Malaysia. Dapatan kajian rnenunjukkan EK GPI dan kualiti GPI rnasing berada pada tahap sangat tinggi (min=4.32) dan cernerlang (min=4.32). Analisis Pearson pula menunjukkan terdapatnya korelasi yang yang sederhana dan positif antara EK dengan kualiti GPI (r=0.619). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

RausSyed Najihuddin Syed HassanThis study embarks from the great and huge responsibility of teachers nowadays especially the IRT (Islamic religious teachers). As the role model of students, they play an important task especially in producing the good Muslim character. Therefore, their job not only focuses on the content of subject but becomes wider in scope, more than other teachers in molding a human. For this, the mind faculty plays an important role. Many studies have proved that people's belief and how they perceive themselves can influence their personality and make them be a center of attention. The past research findings have shown that teachers need to have the PSC (positive self-concept) to help them become a successful role model and produce the great Muslim character in the future. Thus, this study seeks to look at the need of PSC in IRT as a role model. This study is a conceptual paper which is based on the analysis of document method. The paper will discuss the role of IRT, the PSC and the needs for teachers, and the influence of teachers' PSC on students' behaviour. Due to current scenario of social ills, the IRT responsibility of educating and molding the good character of Muslim students becomes much more challenging. Halim TamuriThe rapidly developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology is growing dramatically. The environment of human lifestyle has changed from the use of smart phones, drivingless vehicles, robots and the development of autonomous weapons. The aim of this research is to identify the ability and effect AI on humans in this era. This research was done qualitatively by the observer of literature and the analysis of documents. As a result of this research, AI has been widely used, particularly in developing countries, in the areas of healthcare, finance, economics, aviation, automotive, and education. The use of AI was exploited in terrorist activity, identity forgery and inequality, however. In addition, the AI experts are worried that the AI technology is out of reach and poses risks to humans. This trend has generated sparks of interest for various parties worldwide, including the United Nations and the European Commission, to begin preparing AI development strategies, limitation and regulations. Because various parties in the global sector are trying to put together guidelines and ethics in AI's research, there is collaboration opportunity in providing ethics feedback from the Islamic teachings perspective. The need for collaboration in assembling AI's research guidelines and ethics needs to take into account various disciplines and viewpoints, including from the Islamic viewpoint. Dalam konteks MBK Masalah Penglihatan, kewujudan al-Quran Braille memberi peluang dan ruang kepada anak istimewa ini membudayakan al-Quran dalam kehidupan harian. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan senario perkembangan pengajaran al-Quran Braille di Malaysia. Selain itu, ia bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti isu dan cabaran Guru Pendidikan Islam (GPI) dalam pengajaran al-Quran Braille. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kaedah kualitatif dengan menjadikan protokol pemerhatian dan temu bual untuk mendapatkan data. Publication Perbezaan Kualiti Guru Pendidikan Islam Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Berdasarkan Jantina, Lokasi Sekolah Dan Kekerapan Menyertai Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan(Universiti Malaya, 2015) ;Noornajihan JaafarAb. Halim TamuriThis study was designed to examine the quality of teachers of Islamic Studies (TIS) in national secondary schools in Peninsular Malaysia. A research on the differences of TIS quality based on a number of demographic factors such gender, school location and the frequency of participating in-service training was also carried out. This study used a quantitative approach and the questionnaire was the main instrument. Multi stage cluster sampling technique was used to determine the sample. The sample size involved in this research were 544 TIS representing a population of 8562 TIS in national secondary schools in Peninsular Malaysia. The results show that TIS quality is at an excellent level (M = 4.32). t-Test analysis shows that there is a small difference for quality variables based on gender, the male TIS (M = 4.41) topped females TIS (M = 4.29). The school location had no influence on the quality of TIS. In addition, the frequency factor participating in-service training also did not make a difference to the quality of the TIS. In addition, findings of this study pose implications for policy and practice of teaching among TIS. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Halim TamuriProgram pengajian di masjid merupakan salah satu sistem pengajian berpusat terawal Islam yang diasaskan oleh Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. semenjak lebih 1400 tahun yang lalu. Dokumen sejarah dan beberapa kajian telah membuktikan ,bahawa fungsi masjid bukan sahaja terfokus kepada program pengajian kerohanian malah berperanan sebagai one stop centre dalam memenuhi keperluan umrnah. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan mengenengahkan isu pengajian Tilawah al-Quran di masjid bagi Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) Penglihatan sebagai sampel dan skop kajian. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti ciri-ciri masjid mesra Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) khususnya OKU Penglihatan. Selain itu, kajian ini juga bertujuan menilai peranan masjid dalam membimbing OKU penglihatan khususnya dalarn mempelajari al-Quran. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian lapangan dengan membuat pemerhatian terhadap beberapa buah masjid sekitar Negeri Sembilan dan menjalankan beberapa sesi temubual dengan beberapa responden secara rawak. Selain itu, maklumat dan data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kaedah kajian perpustakaan. Hasil kajian ini mendapati bahawa keperluan masjid mesra OKU telah mula mendapat perhatian kepada pihak berwajib. Halim Tamuri ;Norshidah Mohamed SallehMohd IsaHamzahThis paper discusses scenarios that occur in the delivery of the National Education Program, focusing the debate on the Special Education teacher professionalism especially teachers of Islamic Studies (IET). The objective of this study is to propose solutions to issues and challenges of the teaching profession by presenting a model of Special Education teacher as Murabbi. The term Murabbi is selected in this model as opposed to Mursyid, Mu’allim, Muaddib, and Mudarris, because Murabbi encompasses the concept of love which is very close to special children as applied in this element. The findings of this study have resulted a model teacher as Murabbi particularly in the context of special education. Halim Tamuri ;Azhar Haji Ahmad ;Nur Hanani HussinMohd Khamal Md. DaudThe role of Islamic education teacher (IET) as society change agent (SCA) requires a strong internal motivation factor. It begins with confidence in self-ability i.e. self-efficacy (SE) in implementing the trust given to them. This study aims to assess the relationship between SE ITE in Malaysia with the role of SCA in society. This quantitative study has involved 1382 IETs in Malaysia. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling and based on random sample selection. The findings show that the SE level of ITE is at high level. But the role of IET as SCA is at less satisfactory level. Furthermore, SE has been identified to have a significant relationship with IET's role as SCA but was at weak level. The implication is, the study finds that the focus should be on restoring ITE's mindset about the community's work and developing the ummah, as well as the 21st century teaching and learning (T&L) skills. In fact, IET needs to be given practical exposure to engage in society through NGOs, surau, mosques, da'wah organization and government agencies. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
