Publication The prophet’s communication approach towards ‘Aishah r.A. based on selected hadith in Sahih Bukhari(American Scientific Publishers, 2017) ;Ibrahim, Nur Thahirah ;Muhamad, Nurul Asiah Fasehah ;Jaafar, Noornajihan ;Ghazali, Norzulaili Mohd ;Khassim, Noor Azma Mohamad ;Nor, Zulhilmi Mohamed ;Ahmad, Hishomudin Bin ;Islamic Science Institute ;Faculty of Major Language Studies ;Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Communication is important in building a harmonious household and in strengthening the relationship between a husband and wife. However, the lack of communication could cause confusion, misunderstanding, and even arguments and divorce (Khalili, 2011; Enrichment, 1914; Atika Widayanti and Puji Lestari, 2014). According to statistics, in the first three months of 2016, there have been 15,231 cases of divorce in Malaysia. Moreover, studies claim that communication problems are among the main causes of divorce (Atika Widayanti and Puji Lestari, 2014). Due to these problems, it is crucial to review the best methods of communication and refer to them. Therefore, this study analysed the connotations of a number of hadiths from Sahih Bukhari through their interpretations and characterised the two-way conversations. The study also explored the approach of the Prophet in communicating with his wife by using some of the hadiths that were narrated by ‘Aishah r.a. in Sahih Bukhari. Furthermore, the study has applied a qualitative approach through an inductive analysis of texts. The implications of the study will increase the understanding of how to communicate with wives from verbal and nonverbal aspects.
