Publication Warfare in the history of the marinid military from the chronicle of al-salawi(2012) ;Jamsari E.A. ;Ashari M.Z.A.H. ;Kamaruzaman A.F. ;Sulaiman A. ;Centre of Core Studies ;Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)This article examines the series of wars that occurred in the military history during the reign of the Marinid Kingdom (1215-1465 A.D.). The writing is based on the work of Ahmad b. Khalid al-Nasiri al-Salawi (d.1315 H./1897 A.D.) entitled, al-Istiqsa li Akhbar Duwal al-Maghrib al- Aqsa. The main goal of this article is to study on the biography of al-Salawi and his capacity to become a great Muslim historian, especially on the history of al-Maghrib. In addition, it seeks to identify and highlight the series of wars that happened during the Marinid era. Overall, this article used a qualitative method which comprises library research, historical study and content analysis. These were done through reviewing and examining the data regarding the military history in al- Salawi's work. The findings showed that al-Salawi is a prominent historian of al-Maghrib and his work, al-Istiqsa li Akhbar Duwal al-Maghrib al-Aqsa, is regarded as his greatest contribution to the discipline of Islamic history and civilization in al-Maghrib and al-Andalus, and the field of Islamic military history in particular.
