It is aim to revisit, the concept of creativity and innovation in Islam, from the examples shown by the Prophet (SAW). This study also highlights the significance and the needs to apply the Prophetic model of Islamic creativity and innovation to the present educational system. It employed qualitative approach by theoretical and conceptual analysis of relevant historical cases to establish, the concept the Islamic creative and innovative thinking from the life of Muhammad (SAW). It is hope that it may provide a distinctive perspective on the concept of creativity and innovation and its necessity in contemporary Islamic educational system which should be treated as a crucial tool for modern era. Publication Political creativity among religious leaders: The case of Muhammad(2013) ;Nizah M.A.M. ;Zarif M.M.M. ;Atoma P. ;Kandil H.M.T.E. ;Islamic Science Institute ;Centre of Core StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)This study aims to reassess the creativity of Muhammad specifically in political and statesmen points of view, and to highlight his creativity in diplomacy, conflict resolution and international affairs. The study employed qualitative content analysis through evaluating relevant reports, articles and texts. Despite the flourishing literatures on his life and biography, aspects relating to his qualities, skills and virtues in light of contemporary condition are still lacking and understudied. Obviously, this article focuses only on a few aspects of his life; particularly his creativity in diplomacy, conflict resolution and international affairs. This preliminary paper will provide a distinctive perspective on the concept of creativity and innovation and its necessity in contemporary Islamic political approach, which should be considered as an important characteristic for both modern Islamic and western worlds. Publication A preliminary study on the Islamic creativity practices(Mediterranean Center of Social and Educational Research, 2015) ;Nizah M.A.M. ;Ismail A. ;Zarif M.M.M. ;Mohamad A.S. ;Kandil H.M.T.E. ;Atoma P. ;Centre of Core StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Creativity is the natural ability to generate new ideas and/or possibilities in solving problems. It is an important skill that should be practiced by students in higher education and can be nurtured by the use of various learning methods and techniques. This preliminary study conducted aims to measure the level of creativity practices among 30 volunteers of first-years student in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. The test instrument administered based on the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking to the selected respondents to measure the level of creativity, creativity practices and creativity from the Islamic perspective. Data then analysed using descriptive through mean analysis and inferential statistical methods. The results showed that although there is no significant difference in the level and creativity practices among gender, but in terms of Islamic creativity elements, significant difference is observed. This indicates that the respondents are more creative upon exposure to materials on creativity during the period of the study. Thus, relevant efforts must be concentrated to produce more creative students who also have a proper understanding of creativity from the Islamic perspective. � 2015, Mediterranean Center of Social and Educational Research. Publication The relationship of urbanization on perception of ethnic relations(2012) ;Mohd Nizah M.A. ;Atoma P. ;Centre For Core StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Malaysia is currently actively involved in modernization process in its effort to achieve the status of developed country in the year of 2020. Malaysia emerged as a country that is contained in them more than 200 ethnic groups and various sub-ethnic colour, religion and culture. Therefore, unity of its people becomes the main core aspect beside the strong economic areas. This paper aims to determine the relationship of urbanization with perception of students towards ethnic relations issues. About 451 sets of questionnaire were distributed in University of Malaya (UM) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). Simple random method was employed with data has been analysed descriptively with percentage and mean. Analysis regression technique also has been used to determine the relationship between urbanization and perception of students towards issues pertaining ethnic relations. The study has shown that, there are relationships between urbanization and students perception towards issues in ethnic relations. Findings also showed students from the developing areas are better in ethnic relations in terms of perception as compared to developed areas. It is thus, confirmed that urbanization has an influence on the level of ethnic integration. It is learnt that progress towards modernization should be balanced with the development of community itself and are ready to join hands together to develop Malaysia.
