Publication Critical success factors for knowledge transfer via an Australian government education website(International Business Information Management Association, IBIMA, 2011) ;Azizan N. ;Smith R. ;Cooper V. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)RMIT UniversityThe transfer of knowledge pertaining to government services is central to the success of e-government websites. This paper explores critical success factors (CSFs) for the transfer of knowledge from government to users (citizens, business entities, employees and other government agencies) via an Australian government education website, from the perspective of the government website provider. CSFs are defined as "the limited number of areas in which results, if satisfactory, will ensure successful competitive performance for the organization" (Rockart 1979, p. 5). It has been recognized that there are generally a small number of such attributes that, if performed well, will create opportunities for success (King 2001). Knowledge transfer (KT) is defined as a process that includes "any exchange of knowledge between or among individuals, teams, groups or organizations" (King 2006, p. 538). It is the process by which knowledge is transmitted to and absorbed by users. Knowledge in this research is scoped to include government knowledge resources (information and services) made explicit and available to users via government websites. The research has adapted Szulanski's KT four stages model as a lens to study CSFs. The research has employed an interpretive case study approach, applying qualitative data capture and analysis methods. Eleven CSFs are identified and grouped into six themes. The research provides guidance to practitioners, arguing that identifying and understanding the CSFs can support government website providers in taking decisions related to the internal operation of their website's content development and delivery activities, so enhancing their capacity to deliver requisite knowledge to website. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Diagnostic challenge in a cystic lesion of the epigastrium: A case report(Gazi Universitesi, 2018) ;Hayati F. ;Azizan N. ;Ariffin A.C. ;Kiang K.F. ;Zuhdi Z. ;Jarmin R. ;Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ;Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Medical CentreA diagnosis of cystic lesion of epigastrium is challenging without strong evidence from history and physical examination. A 33-year-old lady has an epigastric mass without hepato-pancreaticobiliary symptoms, was unable to be diagnosed through radiological assessment and biochemical markers. She was diagnosed with hepatobiliary cystadenoma through intraoperative assessment. We present a case of biliary cystadenoma with diagnostic challenge. Copyright 2018 by Gazi University Medical Faculty. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication A diagnostic conundrum in a localized ascending aortic aneurysm(Gazi Universitesi, 2018) ;Ariffin, AC ;Ngadiron H. ;Hayati F. ;Azizan N. ;Kadir F. ;Zakaria A.D. ;Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) ;Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)Aortic dissection (AD) is an uncommon life-threatening emergency. Its development is usually subtle and easily missed. On the other hand, an aneurysm nearly always requires immediate surgical intervention. Both interventions are technically different and pose their own challenges. We experienced a distinct case of AD of the ascending aorta in a 65-year-old lady, who presented with a sudden onset of severe chest pain and shortness of breath. Thoracic aortic aneurysm was suspected as computed tomography revealed a saccular aneurysm of the proximal ascending aorta with no involvement of the valve and aortic branches. Surgery was decided after considering the risk of rupture and mortality. However, a diagnosis of localized aortic dissection was discovered and repaired accordingly. We discuss the pitfalls of diagnostic modalities and the techniques of surgical repair. Copyright 2018 by Gazi University Medical Faculty. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication In-vitro inhibitory effect of Cinnamomum zeylanicum and Eugenia caryophyllata Oils on Multispecies Anaerobic Oral Biofilm(University of Dicle, 2019) ;Azizan N. ;Mohd-Said S. ;Firdaus Mazlan M.K. ;Chelvan K.T. ;Hanafiah, Rohazila Mohamad ;Zainal-Abidin Z. ;Faculty of Dentistry ;Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) ;Ministry of Health MalaysiaUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)The study aimed to determine the in-vitro inhibitory effect of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume (cinnamon) and Eugenia caryophyllata (clove) oils on combined Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum biofilm. Following a steam distillation extraction technique, oils from cinnamon bark and clove buds were tested for their antibacterial anti-adhesion and anti-biofilm activities on mixed biofilm containing P.gingivalis and F.nucleatum. The quantification of viable and adhered bacterial cells on 96-well plates using the crystal violet test was analysed and morphology of the bacteria in biofilm was observed under the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Our study demonstrated C.zeylanicum oil inhibited satisfactory anti-adhesion effect and significantly disrupted the biofilm formation at 1.25-5.0 mg/mL whereas E.caryophyllata oil suppressed the adhesion of bacteria and disrupted the formation of biofilm at 0.63-5.0 mg/mL. The SEM study showed prominent changes including ruptures and flatten bacterial wall in samples with E.caryophyllata oil while pitted and flatten cells were seen in C.zeylanicum samples compared to the smooth and distinguished cell wall seen in untreated samples or even more damaged cells in Ampicillin samples. We conclude that C.zeylanicum and E.caryophyllata oils showed significant in vitro anti-biofilm properties against mixed P.gingivalis and F.nucleatum biofilm and prominently altered the bacterial wall morphology. This finding may suggest potential therapeutic properties of these oils in controlling biofilm-related oral diseases. 2019 Journal of International Dental and Medical Research. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The efficiency of E-Procurement in Malaysia: An analysis of experience and perception(International Business Information Management Association, IBIMA, 2014) ;Alaweti M.F. ;Azizan N. ;Faryadi Q. ;Faculty of Science and TechnologyUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)The technology of e-procurement become more popular in many developed countries due to its accuracy in decision making for big projects that enhance the public bidding process for development projects in any country. The experience of employees who operate the system of e-procurement and the perception of users who bid for projects is essential to ensure the efficiency of procurement and the whole bidding process for public projects. This paper examined the impact of employee's experience on the efficiency of e-procurement systems in public agencies. In addition to that attempt to examine the perception factor of using e-procurement systems with regard to users in the seller side. A survey was conducted to identify the Impact of Experience and Perception on the Efficiency towards adoption and use of e-Procurement system among users who working in firms participated in online bidding for public agencies projects, and employees who are working in e-procurement department in government administrations Malaysian government. A total of 80 questionnaires were collected and the data were analyzed to look at the level of the Impact of experience and perception in E-procurement users. Publication Undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver: An enigma of diagnosis(Gazi Universitesi, 2018) ;Ariffin AC ;Hayati F. ;Azizan N. ;Zuhdi Z. ;Azman A. ;Othman H.A. ;Jarmin R. ;Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) ;Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)A 20-year-old man presented with peritonitis requiring emergency laparotomy. He was found to have a huge liver abscess on the right lobe. Open drainage was performed but the abscess was persistently unresolved upon follow up. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a solid liver lesion with raised Ca 19-9. Right hepatectomy was subjected and histology was consistent with a rare and aggressive case of embryonal sarcoma of the liver. Despite oncologic resection, he developed local recurrence and succumbed to death in 6 month postoperatively. We describe a unique aetiology of liver abscess with literature reviews of undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver. Copyright 2018 by Gazi University Medical Faculty. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
