Publication A research framework of electronic document management systems (EDMS) implementation process in government(Asian Research Publishing Network, 2015) ;Abdulkadhim H. ;Bahari M. ;Bakri A. ;Ismail W. ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Many governments today have implemented Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS). The employment of EDMS systems has increased the operational (e.g. document storage and retrieval, auditing, workflow facilities, searching and publishing) effectiveness of governments on daily basis. However, not many studies had been undertaken into process of implementing EDMS in the government context. Therefore, this paper fills this gap by presenting a research framework for the implementation process of EDMS. Based on a content analysis of the reviewed literature, this paper identifies thirteen (13) common factors contributing to the implementation process of EDMS. The factors are: (1) Top management support; (2) Budgetary; (3) Implementation planning; (4) Anti-corruption; (5) Implementation staff; (6) Security and privacy; (7) Data quality, (8) User requirements; (9) Cooperation; (10) Systems integration; (11) Awareness; (12) Resistance to change; and (13) Staff training. All these factors subsequently were linked to the Prosci-ADKAR model of change to outline the structure of EDMS implementation process framework. The proposed framework contributes to the theoretical understanding of the EAI implementation process, which may support government practitioners in implementing the EDMS applications in their government organizations. The paper also highlights with three important issues that need to be explored further while developing the framework: 1) the EDMS implementation process meaning in system development life cycle; 2) the importance of EDMS implementation factors; and 3) the kind approach to investigate EDMS implementation process. 2005 - 2015 JATIT & LLS. Publication An adaptive thresholding method for segmenting dental X-ray images(Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, 2017) ;Razali M.R.M. ;Ismail W. ;Ahmad N.S. ;Bahari M. ;Zaki Z.M. ;Radman A. ;Faculty of Dentistry ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Penang Skills Development Centre ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)Thresholding is a way of segmenting an image into foreground and background according to a fixed constant value called a threshold. Image segmentation based on a constant threshold leads to unsatisfactory results with dental X-ray images due to the uneven distribution of pixel intensity. In this paper, an adaptive thresholding method is proposed to attain promising segmentation results for dental X-ray images. The Mean, Median, Midgrey, Niblack, and OTSU thresholding methods are utilized to delineate the acceptable range of threshold values to be applied for segmenting X-ray images. Experimental results showed that the Median method provides consistency in achieving the best range of threshold values which is between 57 and 86 in greyscale. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Analysis of the readiness for healthcare personnel adopting telerehabilitation: An interpretive structural modelling (ISM) approach(Springer Verlag, 2019) ;Bahari M. ;Jafni T.I. ;Ismail W. ;Hashim H. ;Hussain H. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)PERKESO Rehabilitation CentreTelerehabilitation (TeleRehab) is the modern innovation used for rehabilitation service. Evidence in favor of readiness among healthcare personnel in adopting TeleRehab is limited. Since “readiness” is a crucial prerequisite to the successful implementation of an innovation, studying the healthcare personnel readiness for TeleRehab is mandatory to gain a better understanding of the relationships among the factors. The main aim of this paper is to determine the relationship among the readiness factors of healthcare personnel and to identify the most influential factors from the recommended readiness list with the help of ISM approach. The study has been conducted in three different phases: the identification of readiness factors from reviewing the literature, interviews with personnel healthcare, and determining the relationship among the readiness factors and its most influential factor. Twelve (12) relevant readiness factors have been identified from reviewing the literature and interviews with experts. Through the use of ISM, five (5) factors have been identified as driver factors; another five (5) factors have been identified as the linkage factors and two (2) factors have been identified as the dependence factors. No factor has been identified as autonomous factor. Out of which, one (1) factor has been identified as top-level factor and one (1) bottom level factor. Clear understanding of these readiness factors will help healthcare institutions to better prioritize and manage their human resource, healthcare personnel in an efficient and effective way to adopt TeleRehab. The proposed structured model developed will help to understand relationship of the readiness factors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Exploring barriers that affect telerehabilitation readiness: A case study of rehabilitation centre in Malaysia(Springer Verlag, 2019) ;Jafni T.I. ;Bahari M. ;Ismail W. ;Hanafi M.H. ;Islamic Science Institute ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)TeleRehab enables the rehabilitation services to be delivered in distance by providing information exchange between patient with disabilities and the clinical professionals. The readiness step in any adoption of healthcare services should always be one of the requirements for a successful implementation of an innovation. However, little scholarly has been undertaken to study its influence on TeleRehab and the various barrier factors that influence its adoption. This research explores the barrier factors that influence the readiness of healthcare institution to adopt TeleRehab. This paper presents a semi-structured interview involving 23 clinical professionals of a case study on the issues of TeleRehab readiness in one rehabilitation centre in Malaysia. By applying thematic analysis, the study uncovers seven barriers that affect the TeleRehab readiness. This includes barriers of no urgency to change, less awareness, less involvement in planning, not enough exposure on e-Healthcare knowledge, resistance to change, low usage of hardware and software, and less connectivity. The study contributes to both TeleRehab management and technology readiness research in hospitals. Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The Berg Balance Scale (BBS) is a benchmark for activity accomplishment featured in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Framework (ICF). The ICF is used by physiotherapist (PT) and occupational therapist (OT) to determine the functional mobility of disabled patient. Conventionally, practitioners measure, record, and analyze assessment results manually which resulting in difficulty in predicting patient progression. The large data volume involved in the RTW process requires synthesize and reasoning for decision making purposes. Thus, there is a need to identify an efficient reasoning technique to facilitate the decision making process. This study highlights the use of Horn Clause in decision tree to assist medical doctor in assessing improvement of RTW approved patient based on the BBS assessment. The Horn Clause is one of the fundamental reasoning techniques applied in various domains including healthcare. The next phase of this study is to test the efficiency of the Horn Clause reasoning based on patient’s stroke recovery and spinal cord injury. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Ontology development in patients information system for stroke rehabilitation(CEUR-WS, 2017) ;Afandi R.R. ;Radman A. ;Bahari M. ;Zakaria L.Q. ;Mustapha M. ;Ismail W. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) ;Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)Disability of upper limb parts is common for stroke survivors. Early implementation of well-organized upper limb treatment after stroke may result in fast recovery of upper limb functions. There are many treatments and assessments to improve the ability in upper limb movements. However, the specialists in rehabilitation departments use patient information system (PIS) to store and manage all the patients information and assessment records. The information and assessment records of the patients usually are obtained from various categories of assessment but it is inconsistent. This causes difficulties in seeking information, and needs to run all the assessments even those not important for the patients. In this paper, an ontology in the development of PIS will be constructed to overcome the problem. The ontology enables semantic knowledge representation for upper limb stroke rehabilitation. This ontology will be designed based on the Enterprise Ontology, TOronto Virtual Enterprise Ontology, METHONTOLOGY and Ontology Development 101. As a result, the proposed ontology will improve the information management in PIS. 2018 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Systematic literature review of e-Commerce implementation studies(Asian Research Publishing Network, 2016) ;Paris D.L. ;Bahari M. ;Iahad N.A. ;Ismail W. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)E-Commerce implementation is a crucial process for organization to make it successful and beneficial. As a consequence, intensive research works in the area of e-Commerce implementation from a diverse range of views and findings have been studied by many researchers. However, the aspect of Business-to-Customer (B2C) e-Commerce implementation has yet been undertaken in an understandable manner in the context of a full life cycle of information systems development. This paper provides a systematic literature review of existing research studies on e-Commerce implementation to discover the extent focus of work based on theme in the implementation phases: pre-implementation, during implementation and post implementation. Sixty five (65) selected primary research studies have been analysed on the basis of implementation phase theme, research approach and research area. The results show that majority papers discussed B2C e-Commerce in the pre-implementation phase (49%) and applied quantitative approach (63%) as the most popular research method. Two other implementation phases namely during implementation phase and post implementation phase has not been sufficiently addressed in the existing literature. Furthermore, existing literature have significantly addressed factors related to e-Commerce implementation but were not mapped to the appropriate implementation phases. These factors list remains on surface without clear direction in which e-Commerce implementation process is crucial for organizations. Thus, through a systematic literature review this study suggests that more research is needed for understanding the complex process of e-Commerce implementation in a more holistic manner. In addition, there is a need for study to screen these factors to a particular and more accurately map in the process of e-Commerce implementation. 2005 - 2016 JATIT & LLS. Publication Understanding the Implementation of Telerehabilitation at Pre-Implementation Stage: A Systematic Literature Review(Elsevier B.V., 2017) ;Jafni T.I. ;Bahari M. ;Ismail W. ;Radman A. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Despite the increased interest of academic scholar in telerehabilitation implementation, there is a scarcity of studies that provide an up to date comprehensive research on it. This study provides a systematic literature review (SLR) on telerehabilitation implementation research. This review explores the processes involved in telerehabilitation implementation, research themes and the factors that influence the implementation of telerehabilitation at pre-implementation stage. In doing this, all relevant articles in the electronic databases of Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed, SAGE and Web of Science that published from 2007 to 2017 were reviewed. The results show that four themes have been paid attention by the researchers' including adoption, benefits, readiness and decision making. The factors in the adoption and readiness were found more dominant than others with seven and six factors respectively. Most of the factors from adoption were in the quality aspects (e.g., system quality, information quality and service quality) while change elements (e.g., attributes of the change, attributes of the change targets) in the readiness. Thus, this study suggests that more research is needed for understanding this complex process of telerehabilitation at pre-implementation in a more holistic manner. 2018 The Authors.
