Publication A Brief Overview On The Integration Of Naqli And Aqli Among Usim Clinical Dental Students - The Akhlaq(Zes Rokman Resources, 2020) ;Diana Md Zahid ;Nur Hidayah Che’ OunNur Iman Mohd HabirDentistry is a field of work that deals with human beings. It is imperative for dental practitioners to have a good foundation of ethics so that they do no harm to the patients while delivering their service. To develop strong characters, religious education plays an important role. Aqli is conventional knowledge, while Naqli is revealed knowledge sourced from Quran and Sunnah. Both Aqli and Naqli are integrated into the learning syllabus in USIM to produce not only competent, but also morally good individuals. The aim of this study is to investigate the integration of Naqli and Aqli among USIM’s dental students. Questionnaires were distributed to a total of 88 dental students from Year 3 to Year 5 of session 2017/2018. The questions included students’ background, the understanding of the concept, the application, and the integration of Naqli and Aqli among the students. Almost all students (92.0%) understood the concept of Naqli and Aqli after learning about them through the integration in USIM while8.0% were not sure. More than half of the students (53.4%) thought that they applied this concept in their clinical work, 36.4% of them thought they applied it occasionally and the rest (10.2%) thought they did not apply the concept of integrating Naqli and Aqli.In general, the Naqli and Aqli concept was more commonly integrated by Year 5 students (42.6%) than Year 4 (29.8%) and Year 3 (27.7%). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Correlation of Chronological Age and Skeletal Maturity in Chinese Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study(Academy of Sciences Malaysia., 2021) ;Diana Md Zahid ;Nik Amalia Nasruliana Mat ZaibDalila Diyana YazidThe assessment of growth in the facial skeleton is very important for diagnosis and treatment planning in orthodontics treatment. With correct timing, the growth of the jaw of patients with favourable skeletal pattern could be altered. This study aims to examine the relationship between skeletal maturity and chronological age among Chinese patients attending USIM Polyclinic using the cervical vertebra method (CVM). The timing of peak pubertal growth was also determined. All cephalometric radiographs of Chinese patients aged 7-19 years from 2010 to 2016 were assessed. Thirty-two radiographs met the criteria. The cervical vertebrae on the radiograph were traced and classified according to Baccetti’s newly modified version of cervical vertebrae maturation (CVM) stages (2005). Chronological age was found correlated (rs = 0.622) with the CVM stages (p < 0.001). In conclusion, skeletal maturity and chronological age correlated among Chinese patients attending USIM polyclinic. The peak pubertal growth for male and female Chinese patients was also determined. The peak pubertal growth spurt, which occurred after CVM 3 and has occurred within 1 to 2 years before CVM 4, is after 12.0 and within one or two years before 14.0 ± 1.1 years for male and within one or two years before 15.45 ± 1.63 years for female - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Differential Pattern In Skeletal-dental Age And Duration Of Growth Spurt Based On Chronological Age And Gender Types (A Comparison Study Between Indonesian And Malaysian Children Populations)(Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, 2022) ;Seno Pradopo ;Sindy Cornelia Nelwan ;Ardianti Maartrina Dewi ;Amalia Wimarizky ;Achmad Nadian Permana ;Diana Md ZahidSyiral Mastura AbdullahContext: Growth and development is a continuous process that occurs intrauterine and continues until adulthood. In the process of reaching adulthood, children must go through various stages of growth and development, Growth is influenced by two main factors, namely internal (genetic) factors and external (environmental) factors. Internal factors include gender, obstetrics and race or ethnicity. Based on the background pattern above, the researcher wants to compare the difference in the duration of growth spurt between the Malaysian and Indonesian populations in terms of the Cervical Vertebrae Maturation (CVM) seen on the lateral cefalogram Aims: to compare the differences in the duration of growth spurt between girl and boy in Indonesian and Malaysia Population based on Cervical Vertebrae Maturation (CVM) seen in the lateral cephalogram to determine the right time and orthodontic treatment plan in order to get maximum treatment results. Methods and Material: The study was conducted in June 2020. The research variables were divided into 3 types, namely independent variables (chronological age), dependent variables (skeletal age and growth spurt duration) and controlled variables (Indonesian population children, Gender, CVM CS3 - CS4). Every sample that met the criteria was performed skeletal maturity analysis using Cervical Vertebrae Maturation. Results: The boy sample required a duration of age to reach maturity, 17.93 months in Indonesia and 17.91 months in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the girs sample only required the duration of growth spurt, namely 6.59 months in Indonesia and 6.64 months in Malaysia Conclusion: There is no significant difference between the duration of growth spurt in Indonesian Boy and Malaysian Boy and so does the duration of growth spurt for Indonesian and Malaysian girl. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Evaluation Of Patient’s Perceived Satisfaction Towards Dental Treatment Received From Usim’s Undergraduates(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2021-10-06) ;Diana Md Zahid ;Azlan Jaafar ;Hani Mursyidah Mohd RazainWan Nor Suhada Wan MokhtarThe quality of provided dental care and its services can be determined by evaluating patients’ satisfaction. Aim: The objectives of this study were to evaluate patient’s perceived satisfaction towards dental treatment received from undergraduate students of Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and to compare the patient’s satisfaction on treatment provision between year 4 and year 5 dental students. Methods: Adapted questionnaire were distributed via Google forms and phone calls to 142 patients. Treatments include preventive treatment, relief of pain and discomfort and operative dental care over a 12-month period from January 2020 to January 2021. The questionnaire consists of 4 domains which are patient-personnel interaction, technical competency, administrative efficiency and clinical setup. Results: A total of 93.5% respondents were satisfied with the treatment received. The domain of clinical setup recorded the highest satisfaction (95.8%). Results showed that there were no differences in patients’ satisfaction between patients that were treated by year 4 and year 5 students (p>0.05). Conclusion: The majority of patients perceived the dental treatment that they received from undergraduate students of Faculty of Dentistry, USIM as satisfactory. The student’s clinical year of study did not appear as a key factor to patients’ satisfaction on dental treatment provided by USIM undergraduates
