Makalah ini memerihalkan pencerakinan sumber-sumber primer terpilih berkenaan Perang Çanakkale (Perang Gallipoli) yang berlaku pada tahun 1915 dalam Kerajaan ‘Uthmaniyyah, di samping memberi anotasi holistik kepada sumber-sumber tersebut. Analisis naratif dalam kajian ini memberi erti pemerian dan pemerihalan aspek pengajaran penceritaan daripada catatan sumber-sumber terpilih berkenaan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan meneliti sumber-sumber primer terpilih dan anotasinya kepada Perang Çanakkale 1915. Keseluruhan kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kaedah kualitatif menerusi reka bentuk kajian sejarah dan analisis kandungan. Bagi kaedah pengumpulan data, data kajian ini dikumpul menggunakan analisis dokumen dengan penelitian terhadap sumber-sumber primer terpilih. Manakala bagi kaedah penganalisisan data, kajian ini selanjutnya menggunakan pendekatan kritikan luaran dan kritikan dalaman. Dapatan kajian ini menghujahkan bahawa terdapat kelompangan pada pemerolehan sumber-sumber berkaitan Perang Çanakkale 1915, khasnya dalam bahasa Melayu yang tercermin daripada perspektif anak watan. Justeru, kajian ini mengambil prakarsa untuk memfokuskan aspek analisis naratif bagi Perang Çanakkale 1915 dengan tumpuan pada beberapa sumber primer terpilih dalam bahasa Inggeris. Pencerakinan ini dilakukan secara holistik dengan penelitian anotasi terhadap bahan rujukan bagi sejarah Perang Çanakkale 1915 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai berwewenang. Analisis anotasi berkenaan dilakukan terhadap 10 bahan bagi kategori catatan perang (primer) yang dipilih secara rawak. Sumbangan kajian ini dapat memberi kemudahan dalam pencarian sumber berkaitan sejarah Perang Çanakkale 1915, khasnya dari sudut sumber primer berautoriti. Secara tidak langsung, kajian ini juga dapat memartabatkan bidang sejarah ketenteraan Islam, khususnya pada era ‘Uthmani kepada para pengkaji korpus sejarah dan tamadun Islam, di samping mewujudkan senarai rujukan Perang Çanakkale 1915 dalam bahasa Melayu bagi mengisi kelompangan yang dinyatakan sebelum ini.

This study investigates the issue of apostasy or riddahor as a human right to freedom of religion or belief, especially among the Muslims. The purpose is to examine the question of whether apostasy should be recognized by modern Muslim states and societies as a human right that must be guaranteed for their citizens. Or, should it strictly be denied, thus freedom of religion or belief should not be extended to apostasy for Muslims and Muslim converts? The method used to complete the study is historical research and content analysis. This study showed that the call for recognition of apostasy as a human right is indeed influenced by the West which extremely enjoys freedom of belief or religion. As for Islam, apostasy is indeed contradictory with its teachings. This article is meaningful as it highlights the Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights (UIDHR) which speaks on religious freedom with limitations. UIDHR invariably attempts to match the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) that recognizes the right to believe in whatever men want or to change their religion as they wish, at any time. Distinguished Muslim scholars in the past and at present time have given a great emphasis on the importance of adab (Islamic ethics) in a believers life. Due to global ever-changing progress and development in terms of advanced technologies, almost all aspects of human beings life are considerably affected. In education, the teaching and learning process has evolved accordingly where users have, eagerly or unwillingly, accepted online learning as part of teaching and learning strategies. This situation has created worries among those who uphold the conventional Islamic corpus approach and those who support todays need in education. Therefore, the objective of this study is to examine the concept of adab of the learned and the learner from the viewpoint of Imam al-Nawawi to provide a fundamental guideline for the online learning educators and novices. A deductive textual approach is used to achieve the purpose. It can be concluded that the narrative of adab for the learned and the learner is undeniably apparent which may benefit users of online learning. It is suggested that a further study may analyze this subject matter in-depth to provide clear adab-based teaching and learning strategies for Muslim users in particular.

Postmodern ethical thought is not in line with Islamic spiritual ethics as modernism and postmodernism are Western ideas that have no place in Islam. This library study briefly elaborates the history of ethical development in the Islamic world and the spiritual ethics from the Islamic perspective. It also surveys the thought of postmodernism as well as postmodernism and religion as they need some deliberation for the interrelation between religion and ethics. As far as spiritual ethical thoughts are concerned, a discourse of the postmodernist ethical thought is given an emphasis to comprehend the ethical thought of postmodern supporters. An understanding of the ethos draws us to a conclusion that reconciliation between postmodernist ethical thought and Islamic spiritual ethics is impossible.

Jati diri atau self-identity memiliki sifat dan ciri tersendiri yang mendasari dan membentuk identiti sesebuah bangsa dari aspek adat, tradisi, bahasa, budaya dan agama. Ia menjadi teras dan lambang keperibadian seseorang individu dalam sesebuah bangsa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan peranan pendidikan awal bagi kanak-kanak Melayu-Islam dalam membentuk jati dirinya. Selain itu, objektif artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan maksud pemerkasaan jati diri dan pendidikan awal kanak-kanak Melayu Islam daripada beberapa pandangan sarjana bagi mendapatkan gambaran menyeluruh tentang konsep ini. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif iaitu pendekatan analisis teks bagi mencerakinkan maklumat daripada sumber yang berautoriti bagi memastikan kesahihan maklumat yang diperoleh. Kajian ini mendapati terdapat beberapa cabaran yang perlu diatasi dalam usaha menyemai dan memupuk jati diri Melayu melalui pendidikan awal. Kajian ini disifatkan penting kerana ia menjelaskan peranan pendidikan awal dalam memberi kefahaman, membudayakan penghayatan dan memperkasakan jati diri generasi Melayu masa kini.

The study examines the role and contribution of the Jabatan Mufti Kelantan (Mufti Department of Kelantan). The department plays a significant role in disseminating Islamic teachings, especially the fatwa, Islamic laws and publication in particular: Established in 1983, the institution saw the engagement of eleven Muftis. The objective of this study is to collect data and information relating to all of the Muftis of Kelantan. The study also aims at scrutinizing and recognizing the role and contribution of the said Mufti Department in giving prestige and propagating the Islamic precepts to the Kelantanese society. This study involves both fieldwork study and library research by analyzing the records and other sources available at the Mufti Department.

In Malaysia, there are widespread opportunities for studying Arabic language, beginning from preschool, primary school to secondary school and university level. There are public universities in Malaysia which offer relevant programs specializing in Arabic language such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Among the core courses for specialization in Arabic language are courses relating to Arabic grammar. Courses on grammar encompass various aspects, among which is huruf alma‘ani. Past prominent Arabic grammarians emphasized very much on study of huruf al-ma‘ani. Various works on it were written by many Arabic grammarians. One of them was the distinguished 8 th Century Hijrah Ibn Hisham al-Ansari. He contributed much to Arabic grammar development, particularly through his famous writing which is still relevant for application even today. Among his works is Mughni al-Labib which is considered as a masterpiece acclaimed and regarded as unique by many lovers of Arabic language who wish to explore Arabic language, especially on the aspect of huruf al-ma‘ani. The objective of this study is to review ibn Hisham‟s endeavour to simplify learning of grammar, particularly through his study of the huruf al-ma‘ani aspect in his book Mughni al-Labib and its suitability as part of reference for Arabic specialization syllabus in Malaysian universities. This article is based on descriptive study of the methodology in Mughni al-Labib contained in the chapter relating to huruf al-ma‘ani. It is found that Ibn Hisham endeavoured to simplify learning of Arabic grammar through his study of Arabic huruf al-ma‘ani. It is hoped that the use of his book, Mughni al-Labib, as part of syllabus reference may benefit students, particularly those majoring in Arabic language in university.

This study examines Syed Shaykh Ahmad Alhadys perspective on knowledge, which discusses the nature, sources, hierarchy of knowledge and his position on both the traditional and modern knowledge. The article aims at identifying the conceptual basics and the structure of Syed Shaykhs thoughts relating to knowledge. The methods used to complete the writing comprise both the library and archive research, which involve the collection of data and its analysis in order to deduce Syed Shaykhs ideas on knowledge. It showed sound knowledge would provide man of reason with a clear concept and a good grasp of religious instructions. This article implies that ones failure to acknowledge the significance and relevance of any of the elements of knowledge, reason and religion would lead to deviations in behaviour and practice and would be incapable of understanding his duties towards his community and the nation.
