Publication Employees’ Work Life Quality from Islamic Perspective: A Case of Hotel Industry(Pusat Pengajian Teras, USIM, 2019) ;Farah Laili Muda Ismail ;Nor Ailis Abd Wahab ;Anita IsmailLatifah Abdul LatiffBeing in a competitive industry such as hotel industry, customer’ satisfaction should be the priority. Thus it really urges the hotel providers to make sure the services are well provided. Due to that, the hotel employers/managers have to be strict and firm with the discipline and attitude of the employees to ensure they serve the best to the customers. However, the situation of ‘being controlled and monitored’ sometimes may affect the performance and quality of work among the employees as some of their human needs are ignored. Islam teaches Muslims to interact and treat employees in good manner. This study focuses on work life quality among employees in the hotel industry and also views it from an Islamic perspective. 100 employees from three 4-star hotels in Klang Valley were selected in the survey. The results show the highest needs among employees is to fulfill the needs of health and safety. It is followed by the social, knowledge & aesthetic needs, self-actualization & esteem needs; and economic needs. Most of the elements are in line with Islamic teaching. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The results show that working conditions, feeling accomplishment, using their own ability; and being‘somebody’ in the community asamong important elements in job satisfaction. Besides, in retaining the quality of work life, the employees need a pleasant work environment, fair pay, jobs that matchtheir skills; and working with cooperative employees. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Managing Public Preschool Education: Links between School Leadership and Provisions of Service Quality(Research Institute for Progression of Knowledge, 2015) ;Farah Laili Muda IsmailAnita IsmailThe ultimate objective of this study is to identify the links between roles of school leadership in and the provision of service quality in Malaysian preschool education. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with four officers from four government agencies providing preschool education namely (1) Community Development Department (KEMAS), (2) National Unity Department (PERPADUAN), (3) Ministry of Education (MOE) and (4) State Islamic Religion Department (SIRD). The findings showed the roles of school leaders that were providing facilities, designing environment, recruiting qualified teachers, applying good communication; and cultivating values and culture could improve the service quality of preschool education. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Role of Automation on Employment Future in the UAE Banking Sector(Penerbit USIM, 2022) ;Shaikha AliFarah Laili Muda IsmailToday, automation become part of the banking service all over the world. The banks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) rely on automation to enhance customer service in many ways, as well as enhance the communications with the clients and improve bank performance in the financial market. All these advancements motivate banks in the UAE to integrate automation technology into their present and future plans. Unfortunately, automation reduce the employment rate and increase the downsizing of workforce inside the banks. Based on this scenario, the aim of this study is to survey the banks in the UAE to identify how automation affected employment future and the performance of employees. The findings show that technological improvements in the banking sector through automation has attracted more clients to the banks but on contrary as the usage of automation has increased, so that the number of employees has been decreased and downsizing raised. Therefore, automation should be utilized in a way to preserve the employees of the bank and shift their role towards advanced banking tasks. The outcome of this study will provide an in-depth analysis about the reality of automation in the UAE banking sector. Hence, filling the gaps in the body knowledge with respect to the impact of automation on the future of employment in UAE’s banking industry
