Publication Attachment Styles And Marital Quality Between Spouses(UNIMAS Publisher, 2021) ;Fatahyah Yahya ;Aqilah Yusoff ;Ahmad Tarmizi Talib ;Sarjit Singh Darshan Singh ;Abdul Hakim Mohad ;Nur Ayuni Mohd IsaMuhammad Jazlan Ahmad KhiriThe research was aimed to study the relationship between attachment styles and marital quality between spouses. A total number of 52 spouses representing teachers from Sekolah Menengah Agama Daeratul Ma'arifil Wataniah 1 (SMA DMW 1), in Peninsular Malaysia's northwest coast, participated in this study. There were two sets of questionnaires used: Experience in Close Relationship (ECR) and Marital Adjustment Test (MAT). The results showed that there was a significant relationship between attachment styles and spouses' styles. However, there is no relationship between marital satisfaction among spouses, and there is also no relationship between attachment styles and marital satisfaction among spouses. Future research is suggested to enhance the inquiry by moving beyond self-report instruments to develop alternative methods of assessment as some of the questions should be more specifically contextualised for the diverse Malaysian culture - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Effects Of Parental Attachment On Personality Traits(UNIMAS Publisher, 2021) ;Fatahyah Yahya ;Mohd Imamuddin Nahar ;Ahmad Tarmizi Talib ;Sarjit Singh Darshan Singh ;Abdul Hakim Mohad ;Nur Ayuni Mohd IsaMuhammad Jazlan Ahmad KhiriThis study aims to identify parental attachment's effects on trainee counsellors' personality traits in the Universiti of Malaysia Sarawak UNIMAS. This research adopted a correlational research design. The respondents were 209 trainee counsellors from the Counselling Program, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak UNIMAS. Two questionnaires were used in this study: The Inventory of Parents and Peer Attachment (IPPA) and the Big Five Personality. The findings indicated a significant relationship between Parents Communication, Attachment and Extraversion and the Agreeableness Trait of Personality. It also showed a significant relationship between Parents Communication Attachment and Extraversion, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. We also found a significant relationship between Parents' Alienation Attachment and Conscientiousness, Neuroticism and Openness. The study informs society about the need to increase awareness about the importance of knowing attachment styles and personality traits as both impact individuals' lives.. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Family Intervention In The Treatment Of Female Juvenile Delinquency: A Qualitative Study In The Collectivist Society(Sage Publication, 2022) ;Melati Sumari ;Dini Farhana Baharudin ;Fatahyah YahyaMohd Radhi Abu ShahimAims: The current study explores the benefits of a family intervention program on families and their adolescent children who were convicted as juveniles. Adolescents and their families shared their experiences in joining the program, especially the improvement they made while in the program. Demographics: Research participants included eight adolescents, six mothers, and two fathers. Settings: The program took place in Malaysia's adolescents’ rehabilitation center. Methodology: Data were collected through an in-depth interview with participants. Analysis: Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Findings: Findings revealed five main themes: (1) awareness and insight; (2) Understanding risk and protective factors of delinquency; (3) the opportunity to learn roles in the family; (4) Learning to improve communication skills; and (5) Learning to forgive. Implications: The study provides insight into the importance of family involvement in delinquent adolescents’ rehabilitation and the need to consider the family system approach in counseling delinquent adolescents. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Peranan Golongan Muda Dalam Perubahan Agama Masyarakat Murut Tahol Di Sabah(Institute for Youth Research Malaysia, 2014) ;Abd. Hakim Mohad @ Mohamad Ramli ;Ahmad Tarmizi TalibFatahyah YahyaGolongan muda merupakan golongan yang paling dinamik dalam sesebuah masyarakat. Kekuatan fizikal dan mental yang mereka miliki serta keinginan yang tinggi terhadap sesuatu perkara menjadikan golongan ini sentiasa aktif meneroka apa juga kemungkinan dalam kehidupan. Oleh sebab itu, golongan muda lazimnya memainkan peranan penting dalam memacu perubahan dalam masyarakatnya. Masyarakat Murut Tahol misalannya telah meninggalkan kepercayaan tradisional, dan menganut agama Kristian hasil daripada dinamika golongan mudanya. Makalah ini akan membincangkan tentang perubahan agama masyarakat peribumi Sabah ini serta peranan yang dimainkan oleh golongan mudanya. Hal ini menarik untuk ditonjolkan memandangkan isu agama dan kepercayaan biasanya dikuasai oleh golongan tua; tetapi golongan muda masyarakat ini berjaya membuktikan sebaliknya. Apakah yang telah mereka lakukan bagi meyakinkan masyarakatnya untuk meninggalkan kepercayaan tradisi nenek moyang yang telah dianuti sejak turun temurun, dan menganut satu agama baharu. Maklumat dan perbincangan dalam makalah ini adalah hasil kajian yang dilakukan di Ulu Tomani, Sabah. Selain daripada korpus perpustakaan dan temu bual informan penting, kajian ini juga menggunakan kaedah pemerhatian ikut serta untuk mendalami masyarakat yang dikaji.
