Among those grammarians are Abu Hayyan al-Andalusiyy and Ibn Hisham al-Ansariyy. Mughni Al-Labib cAn Kutub Al-Acarib is one of Ibn Hisham’s renowned work of Arabic grammar. While Irtishaf Al-Darab Min Lisan al-cArab is considered as one of Abu Hayyan’s well-known books in the field of Arabic grammar. It is mentioned that Ibn Hisham had a lot of disagreement with Abu Hayyan. The objective of this paper is to recognize and analyse the differences between Irtishaf Al-Darab and Mughni al-Labib in their discussions related to the meaning of particle al-Lam. The particle is chosen because it has many different meanings. This article is based on a qualitative study using descriptive approach in outlining the discussions of the scholars and analysing the meanings of particle al-Lam by adopting comparative method for fair consideration and accuracy purposes. It is found that there are differences between Irtishaf al-Darab and Mughni al-Labib in the meanings of particle al-Lam. The differences are related to the meanings of al-Ikhtisas, Tawkid al-Nafy, Muwafaqah cAn, al-Tacajjub al-Mujarrad min al-Qasam, al-Tacdiyah, al-Nasab and al-Istighathah. It is hoped that the findings could be used to further describe the methodology of Ibn Hisham and Abu Hayyan in Arabic Grammar. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Sejarah Perkembangan Tatabahasa Arab di Dunia Barat oleh Orientalis Pada Kurun 16M-19M(USIM Press, 2021-09) ;Nurshuhadah ZuhaidiHakim ZainalThe clash of Islamic civilization and the Western world has led to the transfer of Islamic sciences by Western orientalists. The sciences have been translated by orientalists into various languages such as Spanish, Latin, Italian and German. Among the sciences that have been translated is the knowledge of Arabic grammar. This knowledge of Arabic grammar is not only translated but also processed and adapted to the society in the Western world by seven orientalists of Arabic grammar. Accordingly, this writing aims to describe the history of the development of Arabic grammar in the Western world by seven orientalists in the period 16M-19M. The methodology of this study is qualitative which focuses on the framework of historical research methodology that is through the process of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and synthesis of sources. The results of the study found that the emergence of the discipline of Arabic grammar in the West began in the 16th century and was developed by seven orientalists in stages through their work - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Suitability of Huruf al-Ma‘ani Study in Mughni al-Labib ‘an Kutub al-A‘arib as Reference for Students Majoring in Arabic Language(International Organization of Scientific Research Journal, 2017) ;Wan Moharani Mohammad ;Maheram Ahmad ;Hakim Zainal ;Ezad Azraai Jamsari ;Lubna Abd RahmanZulkipli Md IsaIn Malaysia, there are widespread opportunities for studying Arabic language, beginning from preschool, primary school to secondary school and university level. There are public universities in Malaysia which offer relevant programs specializing in Arabic language such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Among the core courses for specialization in Arabic language are courses relating to Arabic grammar. Courses on grammar encompass various aspects, among which is huruf alma‘ani. Past prominent Arabic grammarians emphasized very much on study of huruf al-ma‘ani. Various works on it were written by many Arabic grammarians. One of them was the distinguished 8 th Century Hijrah Ibn Hisham al-Ansari. He contributed much to Arabic grammar development, particularly through his famous writing which is still relevant for application even today. Among his works is Mughni al-Labib which is considered as a masterpiece acclaimed and regarded as unique by many lovers of Arabic language who wish to explore Arabic language, especially on the aspect of huruf al-ma‘ani. The objective of this study is to review ibn Hisham‟s endeavour to simplify learning of grammar, particularly through his study of the huruf al-ma‘ani aspect in his book Mughni al-Labib and its suitability as part of reference for Arabic specialization syllabus in Malaysian universities. This article is based on descriptive study of the methodology in Mughni al-Labib contained in the chapter relating to huruf al-ma‘ani. It is found that Ibn Hisham endeavoured to simplify learning of Arabic grammar through his study of Arabic huruf al-ma‘ani. It is hoped that the use of his book, Mughni al-Labib, as part of syllabus reference may benefit students, particularly those majoring in Arabic language in university.
