It is known to be highly recurrent and complete wide excision is the best treatment. This cace reported of 56 yr old gentleman presented with fleshy, pink coloured right external auditory mass. The mass arisen from the posterior wall of the canal at the bony-cartilaginous junction. Clinical diagnosis of an anaural polyp was made and the mass was excised. However, it rapidly recurred bigger than its actual size within a week. The histopathological examination was reported as superficial angiomyxoma. A differential diagnosis of isolated superficial angiomyxoma should be considered in the case of external auditory canal mass and Carney complex needs to be considered. Complete excision and regular follow up is recommended. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Pyogenic granuloma of the nasal septum: A rare cause of epistaxis(2012) ;Hassan N.E. ;Goh B.S. ;Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ;Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign hyperplastic, vascular proliferation either on the skin or mucosal membranes. It commonly occurs following traumatic or hormonal changes, particularly in pregnancy. While the lesions occur frequently in the oral cavity in the head and neck region, occurrence in the nasal septum is rarely reported. We report a case of a 23-year-old male with unilateral pyogenic granuloma of the anterior nasal septum, who presented with epistaxis and nasal blockage. Although intra nasal PG is rare, we advocate that PG be considered in any anterior nasal septum mass with epistaxis.
