Bahasa Arab Tujuan Khas atau Arabic for Specific Purposes (ASP) merupakan cabang Disiplin Linguistik Terapan yang mempunyai lapangan dan bidang yang pelbagai, seperti: Bahasa Arab Pelancongan, Bahasa Arab Diplomat, Bahasa Arab Pengajian Islam (AIS: Arabic for Islamic Studies) dan sebagainya. AIS adalah disiplin ilmu yang berkaitan dengan Syariat Islam, Usuluddin dan pengajian Al-Quran dan Al-Hadith. Bahasa Arab dan Pengajian Islam adalah dua istilah yang sinonim, kerana medium penyampaian disiplin tersebut adalah Bahasa Arab. Dengan demikian, keperluan AIS semakin mendesak dalam kalangan pelajar atau institusi yang bertujuan memudahkan pemahaman dan pembelajaran dalam bidang Pengajian Islam. Kajian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang mengguna instrumen soal selidik dan interview terhadap 10 tenaga pengajar dan dua kumpulan pelajar tahun akhir bagi kursus yang berkaitan dengan Pengajian Islam untuk mendapatkan data “keperluan” (Needs) dan autentiknya. Data menunjukkan bahawa keperluan terhadap AIS samada dari kalangan pelajar atau pensyarah adalah amat tinggi dan mendesak. Dengan demikian, penyelidik mencadangkan agar Bahasa Arab untuk tujuan Pengajian Islam perlu di perkenalkan di peringkat universiti.

This study aims to determine the degree of reliability and validity of Multidimensional Measures of Goal Orientation Scale by Zweig and Webster (2004) for measuring the goal orientation of religious educators in privat e religious school. Goal orientation construct has received much attention from researchers as to understand how one build, acquire or demonstrate proficiency in learning and performance. There are three (3) factors used to measure the Orientation Objectiv es, namely (1) Performance Approach Goal Orientation; (2) PerformanceAvoidance Goal Orientation; and (3) Learning Goal Orientation. 171 Islamic education teachers from private religious schools in Negeri Sembilan were involved in the study. 21 items from original instruments were translated into Malay language and translated back to English language using the backtranslation method. The reliability of the instrument was determined by using the internal consistency of Cronbach Alpha's method and the result s showed the alpha values were between .74 and .91. The overall reliability coefficient for the total final items was .84. This instrument has met the psychometric characteristics of a good instrument and can be utilized in different studies context. Haji 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas Nasution was a prominent Malay scholar. Regardless, he was not known by many although he was an active scholar in various fields of life such as author, translator, teacher and polotician. Haji 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas Nasution has also produced works such as "The Quran in Jawi for children's daily recitation" and "Daily Translation of al-Quran al-Karim". He was one of the individual's who have passion in improving the Malays in Malaysia and their competence in understanding and comprehending all sciences and not only religion. He also believed that the Malays should develop themselves and forge a strong link with Allah even after obtaining their independence from the colonial power. This message is apparent from his endless struggles and sacrifices, which are also reflected in his works. This article focuses on his "Daily Translation of the Quran". Throughout this book, he clarified the importance of referring to Allah's book, contemplatng, implementing and regarding it as a system of life, and not merely for devotion. In fact, it guides people in all aspects of life; including marriage, transactions, crimes, and so on.

This study is concerned with the issue of rhetorical science (ilm al-ma`ani), namely the concept of disjunction and conjunction (al-fasl wa al-wasl). Building on the beautiful language and methods embedded in the Quran, an attempt will be made to study the aesthetics of rhetoric described by the concept of disjunction and conjunction. In light of this attempt, our study will examine the disjunction and conjunction as advanced by Imam Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani and identify every locations of this concept. Our applied analytical approach will also include a clarification of the rhetorical meanings that arise from the analysis of some verses of Surah al-Kahf. We infer from this study that there are places where disjunction is necessary as well as where the conjunction is imperative. If a listener does not take into account the recognition of these locations, and its familiarity, the meaning will change as it will corrupt the understanding and intention of the listener, and the whole meaning is unreachable as it should be. In conclusion, it would appear that the aesthetic picture painted by the concept of disjunction and conjunction might change, or might not happen, as would be the case if the conjunction completes what is deserved the disjunction, or vice versa. The danger of mixing the locations of disjunction and conjunction has been pointed out by the researcher through its applications to some verses of Surah al-Kahf.
