It also happens in a classroom, where pre-university of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)'s students are having difficulties in listening skill's activities in preparing for their Malaysian University English Test (MUET). The condition of the classroom as to perceive good sound quality is the essence of understanding the speech in listening task. It is an integral part of the total learning process, albeit a part that are often ignored. Hence, it is a very significant part to reduce echo in having listening task of learning a second language. On that note, this paper discusses on creating a conducive environment for these pre-university students in their listening skill's activities in reducing the echo effect. But sometimes, accidentally, our word used might be hurtful to others especially when we are using foul language or bad words in delivering a message or advising other people so that they will be not boring to listen to us. Unfortunately, this is the sad truth that happen among the preachers especially in this country. Surprisingly, we can hear and see that some of the Malaysian preachers using a bad words while giving their lecture to the society. For instance, by calling others as fool, scoffing at people and humiliating other people. This is a bad example to others since they are seen as good example to the society even though they might be only joking for the purpose of attracting an audience. Aren't they conscious about the prohibitions in using their tongue as mention in the Surah Al Hujurat verse 11 and 12? If they do know, why they are not guarding their tongue in uttering words? The objective of this research is to identify the implementation toward the importance of restraining the tongue in Surah Al Hujurat verse 11 and 12 among students of Islamic knowledge. Thus, as a subject for this research this research, we focusing on the third year students from Quranic and Sunnah Studies (QS) in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), since they will bring the Islamic image after they are graduated soon. Furthermore, the society might be referring to them as a role model and inviting them to deliver a lecture at their residential area. Thus, they also need to be an extra careful, on their behavior, because people may look negatively on Islamic teaching if they saw a disrespectable attitude from the preacher. On this research, we used questionnaire method to collect the data and analyze it according to the respondents feedback. The result shows that there are some factors which contribute to the misuse of tongue among respondents. Publication Industrial Training In The State Of Selangor, As A Complement To The Curriculum Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge Integration: A Survey Of Organizations Favoured By The Students Of The Faculty Of Quranic And Sunnah Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia(Int Organization Center Acad Research, 2016) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Yusoff, AM ;Shaker, MH ;Alhamidy, AQU ;Sheriff, SS ;Rahim, RZakaria, ARIndustrial training has become an important activity for every higher learning institution these days. It is a form of experiential learning for a student after going through a period of acquiring theoretical knowledge in the lecture room. It does not have a standard scale for all universities around the world in terms of the time and duration of training. Some universities set it for a period of one semester and some set it to be longer than a semester of study. In terms of time to undergo the training, some institutions specified that students have to undergo training at the final semester, i.e the study session for the whole bachelor's degree level ends as soon as the student has completed his/her training. Some institutions require students to return and continue their study at the university, after completing their industrial training session. As for students of the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, they are required to undergo this training in the eighth semester, i.e. at the last semester of the final year of their bachelor's degree programme. Upon completion of the industrial training session, they are considered to have completed the curriculum at that level. It is during this training that students practice what they have learnt through out all the lectures at the faculty, especially the integrated knowledge of Naqli and Aqli. This study looked at some organizations which are favoured by students of the faculty as their choice for industrial training in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. Organizations frequently preferred by students include Awan Metro Sdn Bhd, Darul Syakir Enterprise, Islamic Religious Office of Kuala Langat District, National University of Malaysia, Transform Training & Consultancy, Faqeh Foundation, Akademi Fakih Intellect, Tabung Haji Office, PTS Media Group Sdn Bhd and Selangor Institute of Dakwah and Training. These organizations have various different backgrounds such as federal government departments, state government departments, statutory bodies, non-governmental organizations and private companies. In conclusion, the students of the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies of the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia are interested in organizations of various backgrounds regardless of whether they are private companies or government departments in making choices for their industrial training. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Integration Of Naqli And Aqli For Chemistry Course: A Study On Tamhidi Students' Expectations(OCERINT International, 2017-12) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Mat, SR ;Noor, LMArifin, AA balanced approach in education between revealed knowledge and modern science can be enhanced through the integration of naqli and aqli. The integration of both knowledge according to Syed Naquib Al-Attas is known as an integrated educational concept when he first introduced the concept of 'islamization of knowledge'. The important to produce holistic and balanced graduates through the integration of naqli and aqli in knowledge is undeniable to be able to produce Islamic scholars who can become the specialists in solving the problems of ummah. Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has taken further step to apply naqli and aqli knowledge in the process of teaching and learning at university including in chemistry course. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the expectations among Tamhidi students on the implementation of both naqli and aqli disciplines in the process of teaching and learning in chemistry course. The study was conducted on 106 respondents who are the group of Medicine, Dentistry and Science and Technology students as well at Tamhidi Centre of USIM. This study used quantitative method through questionnaires to collect data. The finding has shown positive perceptions from respondents with mean scores more than four in each item. Majority of respondents realized the need of the integration of naqli and aqli knowledge in teaching and learning. They were agreed that this effort should be continued for other subjects in Tamhidi Centre. In addition, majority respondents also expect to be an example in the practice of the integration of naqli and aqli knowledge. The findings are of great importance to lecturers and scholars to improve the implementation of naqli and aqli knowledge in education. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Integration Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge In Curriculum At Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia: The Study On Student's Internship Organizations In Kelantan, Malaysia(INT Organization Center Acad Research, 2016) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Shaker, MH ;Sulaiman, S ;Aziz, AA ;Ab Ghaffar, NSYusup, MHThe integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge in curriculum has been a strategic plan of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia to become a prominent global reference institution on its instigation by year 2025. The university has introduced the term Naqli as divine knowledge; which it derives from Quran, Sunnah and references of respected books by previous religious scholars. While, the term Aqli denotes to modern knowledge that are gained through research and discoveries in the present. By having this integration in its curriculum on both of these disciplines, it has made Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia becomes a uniqueness of its own compared to other tertiary institution on this initiation. Throughout the integration; mandatory internship program for undergraduate students have embraced this curriculum approach along in its students' industrial training session. The objectives for students to undergo the industrial training are for them to be familiarized with their potential jobs scope, in addition, to practice the knowledge that they have learnt theoretically in the university. Students are required to choose any particular organization that has to do with their field of study, in order to gain experience and exposure in their upcoming working world. This study then intends to review the organizations that the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia's students have attended for their industrial training session on the integration of both Naqli and Aqli practices. Particularly, this study will focus on the organizations in Kelantan as this is the state where majority of all the students are being sent to. This study discovers that regularly, students experience their internship in the state government departments; such as the Department of Islamic Religious Affairs, Kuala Krai Syariah Subordinate Court, Gua Musang Islamic Religious Office, Bachok Islamic Religious Office, Tanah Merah Islamic Religious Office and Kuala Krai Islamic Religious Affairs Office. Also, the students have attended their internship at federal government such as the Department of Indigenous (Orang Asli) Development, Kelantan State Education Department, Tumpat District Education Office and Machang District Education Office. They also underwent their internship in the local authorities' offices such as Jeli District Council, non-governmental organizations such as the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia as well as private companies such as KEL Computer Station Sdn Bhd. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Integration Of Naqli Knowledge Of Science Courses In Institutions Of Higher Learning Foundation Centres: Study On Tamhidi Centre, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia(INT Organization Center Acad Research, 2016)Ibrahim, MANacili knowledge refers to knowledge sourced from the Quran and sunah from the prophet p.u.h. since there are many verses from the Quran and hadiths which give insights to modern scientific field. This article discusses issues in relation to the different science disciplines such as physics and chemistry. In physics, many topics can be integrated with the use of Nacili in its teaching including physical quantities, kinematics, force, impulse and momentum, work, energy and power, statics, circular motion, kinematic of rotation of rigid bodies, gravitation, simple harmonic motion and oscillation, mechanical waves, deformation of solids and fluid mechanics. Whereas with regard to chemistry, the topics that could be integrated with Nacili knowledge includes matter, state of matter, atomic structure, periodic table, chemical bonding, chemical equilibrium, ionic equilibria and phase equilibrium. Some of the topics in this discipline are studied in its relation to the Quran. The methodology of this research focusses more on library studies, looking at courses in physics and chemistry at the Tamhidi Centre, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Next, several topics were selected as sample. After seeing the title of general discussion a study on the verses of the Quran was made to see the link between the verse with the title that has been offered in the course. Selected paragraph submitted in English through the translation by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. From the findings, based on a number of titles that have been found in both these courses, it is found that there are many verses of the Quran that were linked either directly or indirectly with the title. It shows the title offered by Tamhidi through physics and chemistry courses, has direct link with particular Quran verses. Publication The Intergration Concept Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge: Study On Students' Perception(Int Organization Center Acad Research, 2017) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Aziz, AA ;Ishak, WANW ;Shariff, S ;Hasbullah, RSubri, IMIntegrating Naqli and Aqli knowledge is the vision of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Malaysia, to transform and create value for country, ummah and humanity. This concept becomes fundamental in university's curriculum for students that pursuing their studies in a various disciplines of knowledge. It is in line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan, which aims to create young generation who are knowledgeable, have an ability to think critically and creatively, have a strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively at the global stage. The study intends to examine the perception of students that adhere to curriculum that based on the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge, especially in USIM. Data was obtained through distributed questionnaire form to students about their perception towards curriculum of integrating Naqli and Aqli knowledge. 114 students from Tamhidi were selected as respondents in this study case. The study found that majority of respondents have a basic knowledge about the integration of knowledge since their secondary school. This is because mostly they came from religious secondary school from either federal, state or private school. The study also found that the subject- based Islamic Education plays an important role as it gives an overview of the integration of Naqli and Aqli. Majority of respondents were able to differentiate between the two knowledge, however this study shows that it was difficult for them to present some examples that explain the integration of both knowledge. In addition, this study revealed that majority of respondents get clear information regarding to the integration of both knowledge in the courses offered by the department. As a student of USIM, the majority of respondents are aware that the institution is a public university that implements integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge in offered curriculum. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Naqli And Aqli Elements In The Teaching And Learning Of Chemistry Course: A Survey On Tamhidi Centre, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia(International Organization Center Academy Research, 2017) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Mat, SR ;Noor, LMArifin, AThe process of teaching and learning that contains both elements of naqli and aqli is very important to create a generation that develops from the diversity of knowledge which does not separate between religious and modern science knowledge. It is in accordance with the philosophy, vision and mission of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), the use of both naqli and aqli knowledges have been applied in chemistry course. Thus, this study is aimed at discovering the students' perceptions toward the integration of naqli and aqli in the teaching and learning of chemistry course at Tamhidi Centre in USIM. To achieve the objective of this study, data were collected using quantitative method through questionnaires from 106 of Tamhidi students consisting of the groups from Medicine, Dentistry and Science and Technology. Responses from those students provided positive insights as they have had well knowledge of the science of chemistry mentioned in al-Quran. The finding of this study revealed that every item has given a good result with mean score exceeds four. Majority of students agreed that they were able to relate the concept of chemistry with revelation knowledge through the integration of naqli and aqli in teaching and learning. It is also found that there is a need to expose the teachers to the best methods of delivering naqli and aqli knowledge in order to give clearer understanding among students. This is due to the success of integrating both of them depends on how far the knowledge is mastered by the teachers. Further studies can be conducted to identify the effectiveness of naqli and aqli's approach among students in modern science subjects. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Naqli Knowledge Course-Based: An Overview Of Students' Perception(OCERINT International Organization Center of Academic Research, 2017) ;Aziz, AA ;Ibrahim, MA ;Ishak, WANW ;Shariff, S ;Hasbullah, RSubri, IMThis research analyses Al-Mabadik Al-Fiqhiyyah (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) as one of a compulsory course that should be taken by the students from Tamhidi Shariah and Law students in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Thus, this research aims to discover students' perception regarding this course, including the level of difficulty and how far does this subject benefit them especially when it comes to contemporary issues to ensure the effectiveness of teaching and learning process. This study also revealed their ability to differentiate with the other course that should be taken during first semester as well, which is Al-Madkhal ila al-Syari'ah and the relationship with other disciplines. They might have quite similar perception towards this course since they have been exposed to this field since their secondary school. The observation concludes that generally the students are able to understand the content of the course, relate it with contemporary issues and aware that this course indirectly connected with three main fiqh branches: Fiqh, Usul Al-Fiqh and Qawa'id Al-Fiqhiyyah. This course also provides basic knowledge of Islamic Law, fiqh terminology as well as skills required in Islamic legal system. Those who are succeed to finish all courses within the two semesters prescribed period of Tamhidi level will further their studies whether in Bachelor of Fiqh and Fatwa or Bachelor of Law and Shariah at Faculty of Shariah and Law. The course required students to complete 4 credit hours for the whole semester as one of the conditions. In line with USIM's principle which is the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge, this study found the importance of this concept for the development of education, institution and faculty, as well as widen the scope of the prescribed courses. Furthermore, education is one of the processes for country development by producing netizens with high level of intellectuality and can contribute for the better nation especially through universities' curriculum. The result from this study will be a benchmark for Tamhidi centre to continue and do some improvement in teaching and learning process without leaving behind the concept of the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

For Islamic studies amongst public research universities, they will need to study this course in order to complete their studies' credit hour to fulfil the requirement of their respective faculty. Hence, this study focused on students' perception of Ulum Al-Quran course in higher education at two research universities namely; National University of Malaysia (UKM) and University of Malaya (UM). The aims of this research are to know the perception of students about Ulum Al-Quran course, the acceptance of Ulum Al-Quran course outline and Ulum Al-Quran reference book or syllabus. Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) as a university that integrates Naqli and Aqli knowledge has taken the globalization challenge by requiring the adoption of English and Arabic language as a teaching and learning medium with adaptability of knowledge discipline even though majority of the lecturer and students are non-speakers of those languages. For Islamic Studies field, the required medium is Arabic language since it is a discipline of al-Naqli knowledge which is based on knowledge in Arabic language where all the basic sources of Islamic studies namely al-Quran, Hadis and Thurath books are in Arabic language. The objective of this article is to study the teaching teachniques applied by the non-Arabic speaking lecturers when they carry out teaching and learning process of Islamic studies to non-Arabic speaking students. This research was conducted based on experiences of the lecturers of Islamic studies at Faculty of Quranic & Sunnah Studies and Tamhidi Centre, USIM. From the research, it was found that each teaching method such as lecture session, tutorial and e-learning is conducted with different teaching techniques. Various techniques have been applied accordingly such as brainstorming, discussion, presentation, story-telling, role play, Q&A, quiz, forum, and exercises. Result shows that the teaching techniques applied in teaching Islamic studies for non-Arabic speakers are suitable with the ability and basic knowledge of students. Result also found that the techniques used are significance in teaching process for non-Arabic speaking students in higher education level. Since the students of Faculty of Quranic & Sunnah Studies and Tamhidi Centre have basic knowledge in Arabic language and Islamic studies while they were in high school, research suggests on pursuing these teaching techniques and enhancing them from time to time.
