Until 2022, a total of 1404 fatwas have been decided, and 398 fatwas have been gazetted. Past studies and writings show rejection of fatwa decisions and the low level of fatwa acceptance among respondents in several states. Therefore, this study aims to identify the latest level of fatwa acceptance among the Muslim community throughout Malaysia. The research method used is quantitative by adopting an online questionnaire instrument to obtain data. Study data were obtained from 500 participants through a multi-stage cluster sampling technique and then analyzed through frequency tables and mean statistics. The study results found that the level of fatwa acceptance among the Malaysian Muslim community is high, with a mean score of 4.60. In addition, this study also achieved a high mean score on the level of fatwa knowledge (M = 4.50) and the use of online media to obtain fatwa information (M = 4.08) among the Malaysian Muslim community. However, this study found that the awareness of fatwas in the Malaysian Muslim community is moderate, with a mean score of 3.60. Furthermore, this study suggests that efforts to increase public awareness of theimportance of fatwas should be intensified using online media platforms by fatwa institutions in Malaysia so that the community is always aware of current fatwas. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The use of social media can bring both good and bad to society. Thus, social media and technology used must be controlled with ethics and moral principles. This study aims to look at the ability of Maqāṣid al-Shari’ah as a fundamental ethic in the use of social media.
