It is aim to revisit, the concept of creativity and innovation in Islam, from the examples shown by the Prophet (SAW). This study also highlights the significance and the needs to apply the Prophetic model of Islamic creativity and innovation to the present educational system. It employed qualitative approach by theoretical and conceptual analysis of relevant historical cases to establish, the concept the Islamic creative and innovative thinking from the life of Muhammad (SAW). It is hope that it may provide a distinctive perspective on the concept of creativity and innovation and its necessity in contemporary Islamic educational system which should be treated as a crucial tool for modern era. Publication On malaysia's ethnic tolerance: A study of two cities(Medwell Journals, 2015) ;Mohd Nizah M.A. ;Centre of Core StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)As emerging modernized nation, Malaysia political and social stability has become crucial elements in ensuring the national inspiration of developed nation by the year 2020 is achievable. The good atmosphere of its multiethnic relations is one of the essential key elements in maintaining its social unity and stability. Thus, inter-ethnic tolerance attitude must be one of the factors that contribute to the good atmosphere of multi-ethnic relations. Therefore, ascertaining the value of inter-ethnic tolerance is a must. In doing so, this study paper aimed to determine the level of tolerance among various ethnic groups in two different geographical areas. This study also seeks to understand the relationship between tolerance attitude and urbanization. This comparative study involved 451 respondents in selected urban and non-urban area. A quantitative approach using a set of self-administered questionnaires distributed with simple random technique is applied. Data then analysed descriptively using percentage and mean. Result shown that due to certain factors, the level of inter-ethnic tolerance in the developed and developing areas were different in certain degree. The findings thus reaffirm previous literature on urbanization and its effect. Suggestions are discussed. � Medwell Journals, 2015. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The integration of education in Al-Hadi and Al-Faruqi(Medwell Journals, 2015) ;Asran M.A.B. ;Wan Zakaria W.F.A.B. ;Mohd Nizah M.A. ;Centre of Core Studies ;Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)This study discusses 2 types ot integration m education that is integration ot education system and integration of knowledge from 2 great Islamic scholars that is Al-Hadi and Al-Faruqi. Although, there is a huge difference in terms of time in which Al-Hadi lives during the age of colonialism while Al-Faruqi lives in the post-colonial era, both of them were founders of the idea of integration of Islamic education. This study seeks to examine the concept of educational integration, as proposed by Al-Hadi and Al-Faruqi in 3 aspects that is the weaknesses of traditional Islamic education, the acceptance of Western education and the integration of education. This study is a qualitative study in nature using content analysis approach. Data were hugely depend and analyzed from the writings of these two figures. The results showed that Al-Faruqi's integration of education not only improves Al-Hadi's idea of integration but in fact it correct misconceptions in Al-Hadi's idea of integration, especially on the acceptance of Western knowledge. However, both agree that from colonial times until present day, there are still weaknesses and insufficient in the traditional Islamic education system, especially in terms of pedagogy and human resources. This study suggests that the integration of the pedagogical aspects of Islamic education should be developed, as the way to produce a balanced Muslim individual that can harmoniously combine modernity with religiosity. � Medwell Journals. 2015. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The relationship of urbanization on perception of ethnic relations(2012) ;Mohd Nizah M.A. ;Atoma P. ;Centre For Core StudiesUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Malaysia is currently actively involved in modernization process in its effort to achieve the status of developed country in the year of 2020. Malaysia emerged as a country that is contained in them more than 200 ethnic groups and various sub-ethnic colour, religion and culture. Therefore, unity of its people becomes the main core aspect beside the strong economic areas. This paper aims to determine the relationship of urbanization with perception of students towards ethnic relations issues. About 451 sets of questionnaire were distributed in University of Malaya (UM) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). Simple random method was employed with data has been analysed descriptively with percentage and mean. Analysis regression technique also has been used to determine the relationship between urbanization and perception of students towards issues pertaining ethnic relations. The study has shown that, there are relationships between urbanization and students perception towards issues in ethnic relations. Findings also showed students from the developing areas are better in ethnic relations in terms of perception as compared to developed areas. It is thus, confirmed that urbanization has an influence on the level of ethnic integration. It is learnt that progress towards modernization should be balanced with the development of community itself and are ready to join hands together to develop Malaysia.
