Publication The Evaluation of “cArabiyyatiyy" Courseware for Arabic Vocabulary Learning among Non-Native Students(Usuli Faqih Research Centre PLT, 2015) ;Nurkhamimi Zainuddin ;Muhammad Sabri SahrirMohd Shahrizal NasirThis study presents the evaluation procedures of Arabic vocabulary courseware namely “ cArabiyyatiyy” for non-Arabic students at the beginner’s level. This study employs an evaluative method in conducting its research procedures. 40 level one students from the Center for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia had participated in the study which was carried out during the semester two of 2012/2013 academic year. The results of the vocabulary tests also show the success of multimedia program in the process of teaching and learning Arab vocabulary, since most of the students obtained good results in their post-tests conducted throughout the study. The study concludes that multimedia program can be used by all non-Arabic students regardless of their categories and backgrounds. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Learning Preference Among Arabic Language Learners Via Mobile Learning Management System Platform (mobile Lms) Using I-taleem(M.Gayathri, 2016) ;Nurkhamimi Zainuddin ;Muhammad Sabri SahrirMohd Shahrizal NasirIn the new era of digital technology especially in the use of mobile learning among youth learners such as mobile gadgets, smart phones, I-Pads and so on, the learners are also affected by the mobile revolution in their learning preference of various educational platforms. As such, the implementation of learning management system (LMS) in a university through normal web-based platform should be exploring the potential use of mobile technology and gadgets in mobile learning platform. This paper aims to investigate the learners’ preference of using mobile devices in learning Arabic in IIUM in order to explore their inclination towards using mobile learning technologies in a learning institution. The respondents were selected from an undergraduate learners in two sections of a course who were learning computer applications theoretically and practically in Arabic language for the Bachelor of Revealed Knowledge (Arabic Language and Literature) in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The respondents have been using both platforms of web-based and mobile-based LMS of IIUM I-Taleem for an academic semester in 2015 before responding to this online survey of 5 Likert-scale and an open ended questionnaire. General results of this study revealed that the learners are enjoying learning by using mobile devices although the web-based platform is still available. The use of mobile LMS among learners is found to provide extra learning support, motivation and self-learning option. Among the suggestions for improvement are improving the internet connection facility for student via Wifi and providing mobile devices for learners to use for better implementation of mobile I-Taleem in IIUM. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Pandangan al-Nadwi Tentang Kepentingan al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah dalam Pendidikan Kanak-Kanak(USIM Press, 2021) ;Mohd Shahrizal NasirKamarul Shukri Mat TehAbu al-Hasan ‘Ali al-Nadwi (later al-Nadwi) was a famous Islamic scholar during his life in the 90s. He is known for his efforts to solve the problems faced by Muslims. Among al-Nadwi’s approaches is the call for Muslims to reappreciate the sources of Islamic history, especially al-sirah al-nabawiyyah (biography of the prophet). Al-Nadwi’s efforts to produce literary works on al-sirah al-nabawiyyah highlighted his thought that al-sirah al-nabawiyyah should be considered as one of the important sources of knowledge. Al-Nadwi was not only produced the work of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah for adults but also wrote several works on the similar theme for children. Based on these facts, this article will unravel al-Nadwi’s views which highlights the importance of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah in the process of educating children. This article analyses al-Nadwi’s views on al-sirah al-nabawiyyah through textual analysis method. As a result, this article discovers that al-Nadwi’s views of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah is based on his stand that Muslims should utilize the source of authoritative knowledge in Islam. In addition, children should be kept away from reading materials that contain elements of superstitions. The content of reading material featuring the prophets as role models should be given priority in the effort to form a good personality for children. Therefore, al-sirah al-nabawiyyah needs to be exposed to children because it is an important requirement to educate them with Islamic education. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Penelitian Semula Terhadap Konsep Sastera Kanak-Kanak Islami(USIM Press, 2021-12) ;Mohd Shahrizal NasirKamarul Shukri Mat TehChildren are the ones who need to be exposed to useful reading materials. An abundance of children books in the market calls for an evaluation of its content to ensure that children read appropriate reading materials. For Muslim children, their reading materials should be in line with Islamic teachings and all elements that are contrary to Islam should be avoided. Based on this issue, the paper will explain the need for a review of the concept of Islamic Children’s Literature. This study refers to highlight the importance of the concept so that literary books for Muslim children can help them understand Islam. This study was conducted by using a content analysis approach involving the views of several scholars on Islamic Children’s Literature. The results of this study consist of several points of view which are the need of correcting misunderstandings about Islamic Children’s Literature and intensifying the discourse on the concept in Malaysia. In addition, efforts to examine the content of literary reading materials for children should always be done to ensure its accuracy with the Islamic worldview. Besides, the empowerment of al-sirah al-nabawiyah as the main literary texts for Muslim children should be given a priority. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Namun begitu, program akademik ini telah ditawarkan oleh universiti-universiti di Timur Tengah sejak sekian lama. Kajian ini dijalankan dalam kalangan para pelajar Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) yang mengambil pengkhususan Bahasa Arab dan Kesusasteraan (BARB) daripada tahun 1 hingga 4 di Kulliyyah Ilmu Wahyu dan Sains Kemanusiaan (KIRKHS) bagi mengkaji keberkesanan dan maklum balas para pelajar terhadap program akademik yang telah ditawarkan ini sejak tahun 1990.Responden kajian ini dipilih daripada kalangan para pelajar Bahasa Arab yang mengambil subjek Aplikasi Komputer dalam di Jabatan Bahasa Arab dan Kesusasteraan atau ARAB 2124 dalam semester 2, 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 70 orang. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan ialah soal selidik yang terdiri daripada soalan tertutup (close-ended) dan terbuka (open-ended). Publication Qissah Qur'aniyyah Dalam Surah Al-Kahf Menyerlahkan Pengajaran ('Ibrah) dan Fadilat Surah(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2014) ;Mohd Shahrizal NasirNurazan Mohmad RouyanQissah qur'aniyyah is one of the delivery form used to explain the contents of the Quran. This form has several features which are very special and it should not be confused with the term "story", a genre known in the field of literature. It carries a lot of meanings for the benefit of mankind, given that men are willing to analyze its existence. Hence, highlighting the lessons found in the qissah qur'aniyyah are among the main reasons for its use in the Quran. One of the features of the qissah qur 'aniyyah is that it is not detailed, and yet, it brings a clear message of the Quranic verses. Surah al-Kahf is a chapter in the Quran which contains four main qissah qur aniyyah which are the story of people of the cave, owner of two gardens, prophet Moses and Khidir and Dhu al-Qarnayn. Besides, a number of prophetic traditions have recognized the recitation of surah al-Kahf on every Friday, thus this is a clear proof that the contents of surah al-Kahf bring wonderful lessons. This paper attempts to analyze Qissah qur'aniyyah in surah al-Kahf and identify its function in conveying the lessons to the Quranh reciters. For that, text analysis methodology will be used with several authoritative books of Quranic exegesis and hadith. This paper finds that the lessons behind Qissah qur 'aniyyah contained in the surah al-Kahf is one of the reasons why it became a chapter recognized by the Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h. to be recited every Friday. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication اتجاىات الطلاب في كلية دراسات اللغات الرئيسة نحو تعلّم البلاغة العربية عبر برنامج الوسائط المتعددة(Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, 2016) ;Nur Hamimi Zainuddin ;Mohd Sabri ShahrirMohd Shahrizal NasirThis study discusses in details the practical steps concerning the development of multimedia program for teaching Arabic Rhetoric. 160 third year students from Fakulti Pengajian Bahasa Utama, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia had participated in the study which was carried out during the semester two of 2014/2015 academic year. After the end of the development process, a pilot study was used to confirm if the multimedia program for teaching Arabic Rhetoric is ready for full-scale implementation. An informal interview (think-aloud method) has been conducted with the students during the process of learning Arabic Rhetoric. The outcome of the interview proposed the use multimedia program as a tool is for enhancing their desires in learning Arabic Rhetoric as they are found to be highly motivated and engaged in the learning process. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The researchers mentioned about the research tools, research samples and theories which are related to the design and development process. This study used “Needs Analysis Questionnaire” in conducting its research procedures. 100 level-one students and two lecturers from the Center for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia had participated in the study which was carried out during the semester two of 2012/2013 academic year. The authors employ the results from this questionnaire in the development of multimedia program for teaching and learning Arabic vocabulary via Moodle and learned through the Moodle.
