Publication Penilaian Terhadap Terjemahan Ayat Amthal Muṣarraḥah di dalam Tafsir Pimpinan Ar-Rahman(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2024-08) ;Siti Khadijah Binti Ahmad TajuddinMuhammad Arif Musa [Supervisor]The linguistic miracles of the Qur'an are among the factors that bring tranquility to every individual who hears it, whether they are Arab or non-Arab. Particularly noteworthy are the various types of linguistic beauties in the Qur'an, such as its proverbial expressions (amthal). In general, amthal are concise and beautifully structured arrangements of words in the form of comparisons that closely resonate with human thoughts, encouraging reflection and drawing lessons from the verses of the Qur'an. However, the translation of complex proverbial expressions (amthal) can lead to confusion in grasping the true meaning of the verse. This also causes readers and listeners to deviate from understanding the intended meaning of the Qur'anic verses. The objective of this study is (i) to explain the concept of proverbial expressions (amthal), (ii) (ii) evaluating the accuracy of the translation of amthal muṣarraḥah verses in Tafsir Pimpinan arRahman based on the interpretation of Fakhr al-Din al-Razi through the book Mafatih al-Ghayb and (iii) Summarize the appropriateness of the translation style of amthal muṣarraḥah verses in conveying the underlying messages behind these parables. This study uses qualitative methods through two main approaches: inductive and deductive. The results of this study found that there are thirty-three (33) amthal muṣarraḥah verses, of which twenty-seven (27) have accurate translations, four (4) are nearly accurate, and two (2) are not accurate. Meanwhile, the findings in chapter 4 show that twenty-six (26) of Sheikh Abdullah Basmeih’s translations are suitable, and seven (7) translations need improvement. There are three (3) suggested methods for translating proverbial expressions, namely the need for providing a good understanding, including information in parentheses ( ) or footnotes, and referring to interpretation books. In conclusion, this study contributes to further research on the translation of Qur'anic proverbial expressions (amthal) for exploration by contemporary scholars. In fact, this study is also able to contribute to the community by highlighting the magnificence of the beauty of the language or the style of arrangement of the verses of the Qur'an.
