Publication Developing A Module For Islamic Foresight As A Tool For Shared Prosperity And Social Well-being(Zes Rokman Resources, 2021) ;Norfadhilah Mohamad Ali ;Hendun Binti Abd. Rahman Shah ;Muhammad Nizam Bin Awang ;Nisar Mohammad Bin AhmadFadhlina Binti AliasFutures studies and foresight play a critical role in enhancing one’s capacity to ‘use-the-future’ in order to pursue both personal and institutional well-being and development. It is an emerging concept that is promoted as a necessary literacy skill by the United Nations under UNESCO, which corresponds with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Many countries have adopted this as a national agenda, but it is still underdeveloped in the Islamic world. This can be attributed to the scarcity of talents in the field, lack of public awareness and the level of effort to integrate it as part of the education process towards long term social transformation. This paper aims at introducing futures studies and foresight to the Islamic world, with an exploration of appropriate methods to allow deeper articulation of the Islamic context of futures. Apart from literature reviews, the approach applied for this article is qualitative observations from Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with Islamic scholars and Muslim youths. This is essential to garner feedback and interest in futures studies, and to relate it to Islamic texts and traditions. The trajectory of this study is geared towards shared prosperity and social well-being, to live in co-existence with other faiths, respond, revisit and adapt to cultures, enhance the empowerment of women and youth, as well as nation building. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication My Phone Is Not Your Phone(UiTM, 2020) ;Norhayati Rafida Abdul Rahim ;Muhammad Nizam Bin AwangNorailis, Ab. WahabIn this advanced era of communication technology, users connect across time and place. In the organization, mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and personal computers have become very important, allowing people to share and access documents easily and fast. This article is written based on the management case study approach that exhibits a multi-national company, Mondelez Malaysia Sales Sdn. Bhd. The company is a part of the Mondelēz International group of companies. Mondelēz International brings the brand that offers quality, convenience, and truly delicious taste to consumers worldwide. One of the brands is Cadbury chocolate. In 2014, Mondelez experienced social media's negative aspects concerning an anonymous report on porcine DNA, which is found on its two batches of Cadbury chocolate. Mondelez's reputation suffered, and it lost approximately RM36 Million within ten days. Later, the announcement is made by the Ministry of Health that the Cadbury chocolate is Halal and safe from any non-halal substance. This case study wishes to identify 1) the impact of social media, 2) the crisis management by Mondelez, and 3) the impacts on the reputation that the department of corporate communication has to deal with. This case study suggests that there should embody efficiency, sensitivity, the psychology of communication, emotions, and ethics of communication. Simultaneously, the stakeholders, corporate governance, and standard operating procedures must be in place. Publication Reliability and Validity of an Instrument to Evaluate Knowledge, Attitude and Practice towards Measures for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia: A Pilot Study(USIM Press, 2021-08) ;Zairina Binti A. Rahman ;Natasya Binti Abdullah ;Noor Dzuhaidah Binti Osman ;Muhammad Nizam Bin AwangNur Syazana UmarPreventing the spread of COVID-19 is crucial in flattening the COVID-19 infection curve. General population control measures should emphasise on understanding the knowledge about the disease and importance of following regulations related to restriction on movement. The aim of this pilot study was to develop a valid, reliable and practical instrument on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice towards Measures for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia. The instrument was developed based on a Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) conceptual framework. The instrument in the form of a questionnaire was distributed online to a sample of 40 adults. The initial questionnaires contained 16, 17 and 14 questions on knowledge, attitude and practices domains, respectively. The content validity was assessed by the experts. The reliability of the instrument was measured using internal consistency reliability, which was measured using alpha coefficient reliability of Cronbach Alpha. The analysis showed that the total Cronbach Alpha value for knowledge, attitude and practice were 0.93, 0.89 and 0.87 respectively. After one item dropped from the attitude domain, the findings of this pilot study show that the instrument is valid and reliable to be used in a further larger study. This study demonstrated that the three scales of knowledge, attitude and practice were reliable and valid for assessing the prevention of spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia, although further analysis are needed to improve especially on the knowledge scale due to the low level of difficulty. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Shaping The Muslim Students' Personality Through Communication Laws Course(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2018) ;Che Zuhaida Saari ;Muhammad Nizam Bin Awang ;Ahmad Anis Bin Muhd FauziSyed Mohd Najib Syed OmarCommunication refers to exchanging of information or news. In today’s high advanced technology of society, communication becomes one of the most challenging areas to the government and society. Any kind of information or news could be spread rapidly in a few second irrepressibly, which could – at some cases- threaten the security of a country as well as the peaceful life of a society. In view of this, it is vital to have an adequate education in communication laws especially for those who will be involved in that sector. Thus, this paper highlights the Malaysian Communication Laws course prepared for some programmes in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia with special discussion on how its modules might shape the personality of the students by combining the civil and Syariah approaches. This article applies the library research method as well the instructors’ experiences as a basis of arguments and discussion. The findings show the significance of learning the course with such dual-approach in shaping the Muslim students’ or learners’ personalities with the hope they are equipped intellectually and spiritually in handling the current and upcoming confronts and challenges.
