Publication Building Character Of Bugis Community In Bone From The Perspective Of Quran And Local Wisdom(Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia, 2022) ;Muhammad Yusuf ;Nahdhiyah NahdhiyahKamaluddin Nurdin MarjuniThis study is motivated by two things, namely Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, and the population of Indonesia has a high cultural diversity. This qualitative research applies a content analysis and semantic approach to analyze the texts and documents. Conceptually, proper education can shape character through the inculcation of religious values and local wisdom. At the same time, wise expressions in the Bugis advice are analyzed with a content analysis approach. The results of the analysis show two main points. First, character building starts from the human side. The Qur'an shows that character building must start from the inner dimension of the human being. It is indicated by the word 'anfus' in the Quran. Second, the central values of Bugis' local wisdom align with the universal values of the Quran, namely coaching that touches the inner dimension in the form of ideas, beliefs, and awareness of the importance of these noble values in attitudes and behavior. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Engagement Among Malaysian Public University Learners Of Mandarin As A Foreign Language: A Confirmatory Factor Analysis Of Engagement Scale(Human Resource Management Academic Research Society, 2023) ;Suo Yan ju ;Muhammad YusufSuo Yan MeiWhen imagining the ideal classroom, most teachers strive for engagement. To know if learners are engaged in their learning, teachers need to know if the learners get on with their tasks, be attentive in class, complete their assignments and actively participate in class activities. In contrast, learners feel relaxed and energetic and enjoy learning. Numerous theoretical models of engagement suggest that it is important in education and second languages but has limited adoption in foreign language learning, especially Mandarin as a foreign language. This study aims to analyse the psychometric properties of the Mandarin Foreign Language Engagement scale. A random sample of 614 individuals from selected public universities in Malaysia was used for the study. The 14 items of the Mandarin Foreign Language Engagement Scale (MFLES) factor structure was adopted from previous studies and analysed using confirmatory factor analysis. The study found that the MFLES has good psychometric properties. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Environmental Ethics From Perspective Of The Quran And Sunnah(Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab and Da'wah Universitas Islam Negeri K.H. Abdurahman Wahid Pekalongan, 2022) ;Muhammad YusufKamaluddin Nurdin MarjuniEnvironmental ethics is a knowledge of ethics that is based on an ethical approach and used to respond to various environmental crises caused by human behavior. This article refers to verses of the Quran and hadiths as the basis of spiritual and environmental ethics values on human interaction with the environment. It elaborates on verses and prophetic traditions that are relevant for obtaining full inspiration of concepts through interpretations and thematic hadiths. It is achieved by reading the full text without separating the context, after identifying the verses of the Quran and hadiths explored based on the context. The religion established by the Whites’ has been accused as one of the causes of environmental damage. However, despite igniting the reaction of religious refusal, it also encourages the reflection on critical theology and methods of reading sacred texts. In principle, Islam teaches environmental ethics integrated into the concepts of tawhîd, khilâfah, amanah, and akhîrah based on Quran and hadith. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Social Construction Of The Elite In The Quran (analysis Of Term Al-mala’)(Institut Agama Islam Negeri Madura, 2021) ;Muhammad Yusuf ;Mardan ;NahdhiyahKamaluddin Nurdin MarjumiFrom a sociohistorical-anthropological perspective, the existence of an elite class with a class of people is known in the Qur’an. This research elaborates the verses of the Qur’an about elite society in social order. The existence of an elite society and its role in human civilization is the main concern in this study. Through the thematic interpretation method, typology and the role of elite society are explained. The terms prophet, apostle, malik, and al-mala’ refer to the elite. Prophets and messengers are elite groups based on revelation, malik based on political power relations. The term al-mala’ is part of an elite society divided into three groups, namely al-mala’, which opposes the apostles, al-mala’, which does not oppose the da’wah of the apostles, and al-mala’ which has a hypocritical character. Da’wah and education carry the regeneration mission for the birth of new elites who are partners in the benefit. As for the opponents of da’wah and the elite who are hypocritical in character, they must be anticipated so as not to cause chaos, crisis, and crime.
