Publication The Needs for Psycho Spiritual Competencies for Disaster Workers in Malaysia(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2020-07) ;Khatijah Othman ;Nurhafizah Mohd Sukor ;Suhailiza Md Hamdani ;Nik Nadian Nisa Nik Nazli ;Muhammad Khairi Mahyuddin ;Yuseri Ahmad ;Marina Munira Mutalib ;Mashitah SulaimanNor Adila Syahira JusohNatural Disaster such as big flood, earthquake, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, fire raze, landslide, and other kinds of disaster always occurred everywhere in the world. The role of disaster workers is crucial in saving the victims in a critical situation where the inner strength to confront the dangerous situation and comfort the victims is needed. This study examines whether the training content to disaster workers possess sufficient knowledge and skills to cater the physical needs, as well as the emotional turmoil and instability situation, occurred to the victims. The secondary data sought from library and website research, scholars’ opinion from journals published and past research conducted. The psycho-spiritual competencies from the conventional and Islamic perspectives are highlighted. Differences in the two approaches were compared and evaluated. The finding shows that the disaster workers require both conventional and Islamic approaches of psycho-spiritual competencies to cater to the needs of disaster victims during the rescue process take place. Hence, Islamic psycho spiritual competencies contribute to the inner strength of the Muslim disaster workers as its emblem the soul and the spiritual heart qalb which correlated as the determinant factor of the well-being of the physical body of the human being. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Pembangunan Instrumen Pengukuran Amalan Wasatiyyah dalam Kalangan Mahasiswa di Malaysia(USIM Press, 2020-07) ;Muhamadul Bakir Yaakub ;Khatijah OthmanNik Nadian Nisa Nik NazliThis study aimed to develop a Wasatiyyah Practice Measurement Instrument among Muslim students at the Malaysian Public Higher Learning Institution. It consists of four dimensions: Understanding Dimensional Scale; Self-strength Dimensional Scale; Attitudinal Dimension Scale and Learning Dimension Scale. The process of its formation is based on the literature review and findings from previous studies, relating to the fundamental questions of the universal, comprehensive and categories of Wasatiyyah practices. 508 respondents in this study represented six public universities in the Klang Valley. The finding shows that there is a positive relationship between Wasatiyyah practice and overall students’ academic achievement. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Kajian ini adalah tertumpu kepada pegawai profesional dan pentadbiran dalam sebuah Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Awam. Kaedah penyelidikan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengguna kaedah Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan bantuan software PLS versi 2. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif diantara pengamalan Islam dengan prestasi kerja. Should the worker have hi gh commitment towards their job, it is believed that it can lead to the development good character and indirectly enhance work performance. Moreover, workers with good attitudes in work places will affect the level of commitment and positive job performanc e that will be an added value to the organization. Hence, this study purpose is to examine whether worker commitment can be a moderating factor in measuring workers attitude towards job performance in an organization. The study respondent consists of profe ssional level officer and administrative personnel in organization. The research employed quantitative method. A set of questionnaire has been distributed to 99 respondent online. Research data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using A MOS software version 23. Finding gathered indicate that worker commitment is a moderating factor between workers attitude and job performance. It is further reported that worker in organization practise good attitude by showing high level of commitment (64 %) and thus it influence job performance up to 84%. In this particular study it is clear that worker commitment does help in enhancing job performance should the workers practising good attitude and virtuous character. Limited studies have been conducted on the relationship between PCB and transfer of training. A total of 425 respondents from Malaysia Civil Defense Department in Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia who attended a disaster preparedness training (March – May 2015) were selected as a sample of this study. This study uses a quantitative method and Robinson and Marinsson’s (2000) questionnaire. Hamdani ;Yuseri Ahmad ;Marina Munira Abdul Mutalib ;Nurhafizah Mohd Sukor ;Zulfadhli HamzahNor Adila Syahira JusohGenerally, the training module for disaster workers has been built based on technical skills as to affirm that the disaster workers capable of responding to any situation that occurs. However, in particular situation the psycho-spirituality skill is needed to deal with an unexpected scenario. The importance to understand the value of psycho-spirituality is vital, especially to the trainer of the disaster module. This study has been conducted to the trainers of one of the disaster agencies in Malaysia. The interview has been conducted to six trainers whereby nine structured questions regarding the necessary skills taught to the disaster workers and the needs of psycho-spirituality skills to respond during the disaster. The finding shows that the trainers have a consensus agreement that the technical skills form as prior knowledge for the disaster workers. By having the psycho spiritual content in the training module, they can balance their emotional, internal spiritual and physical well-being while maintaining resilient. Thus, this study suggests that psycho-spiritual content is very much important to be included in the training module for disaster workers as to enhance the training content comprehensively both in technical and spiritual aspects.
