E-wallets is a favourable choice of e-money transfer among younger and tech-savvy people and those who are at an advanced level in their lives influenced by the internet. Current research trends on e-wallet adoption emphasized on the customer side but dearth of academic work on merchant’s perspective. From literature, there is no thorough framework for e-wallet adoption. It is also worthy to highlight that the adoption rate amongst small merchants especially among Muslims is still low compared to numbers of established small business. The factors that influence the use of e-wallets among merchant users may differ from customer users due to the different purposes of using e-wallets. Furthermore, there is another religious factor, which is related to Islamic principles that are exclusively for Muslims where this might influence Muslim’s decision in adopting e-wallet. Thus, it is essential to address this issue since small-sized Muslim merchants representing the majority businesses in Malaysia. Their adoption of e-wallets will contribute to the world aim in achieving a cashless society. This study proposes a conceptual framework grounded from Technology Acceptance Model with extensions of other variables such as trust, technology efficacy, government support, and structural assurance as to explore the factors that influence merchants e-wallet adoption. This paper has made an initial effort to propose a comprehensive theoretical framework as a basis for a future research agenda. This also calls for empirical testing on the suggested variables in the context of small-sized Muslim merchants. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

For an online business, electronic-payment (e-payment) plays a significant role to expedite the transaction. Online or e-payment system is not crafted for business as merely profit-oriented but it isoffered to all, including government and other non-profit organisationinstitutions. Nowadays, it can be witnessed that there are various types of e-payment systems available to facilitate online selling and buying transactions. However, e-payment system at philanthropy institutions has received fairly little attention from the public. This is happening even though theseinst itutions have invested a lot of money on e-payment systems. Thus, this study attempts to identify types of e-payment systems at one of the Islamic philanthropic institutions in Malaysia and analyse the performance of e-payment in that institution. Publication Bantuan Zakat Pendidikan Kepada Golongan Asnaf: Kajian Perbandingan Antara Negeri Sembilan Dan Negeri Selangor(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2014-04-29) ;Siti Martiah Anwa ;Azman Ab Rahman ;Nor Asiah YaakubMohd Faez Abu BakarZakat institution is responsible in distributing the zakat to eight asnaf as has been decreed in the Quran which are to the poor, needy, muallaf, fi sabilillah, ibnu sabil, gharimin, riqab and amil. The distribution of zakat is in various forms and schemes like educational assistance, cost living, health assistance, human capital development, entrepreneurship, economic assistance and natural disasters aid. However this paper is focussing more on the educational aids to asnaf. Therefore, this paper is to examine the scheme and educational aids given to the asnaf especially in Negeri Sembilan and Negeri Selangor. Furthermore, this paper will analyse the scheme and educational aids, whether there is a significant differences between the scheme and educational aids in both states which affected in the development of education and later helps in strengthening the economy of the ummah.This research applied the quantitative research methodology which is field study using interviews methods and qualitative using the documentation research in the form of deductive and inductive methods. The finding of the research indicated that the educational aids in Negeri Sembilan is given also to the asnaf ar-riqab instead of asnaf poor and needy like in the state of Selangor. However, it does not impair the main objectivity of the aids which is to give equal opportunity and continuous education until successful in their study. It is hoped that this research will gives a better overview and understanding to the society on the types of educational aids offered to the asnaf and whom are qualified to such assistance. Educational aids is very important to help the asnaf to get a better education and career in the future which will also contribute to the empowerment of the economy of ummah. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Determinant Factors to E-wallets Adoption among Small-Sized Muslim Merchants: A Preliminary Analysis(Universal Publishers - Boca Raton, Florida, USA, 2024) ;Nor Asiah Yaakub ;Nathasa Mazna Ramli ;Nurul Aini Muhamed ;Sumaiyah Abd AzizAgoos Munalis TahirPurpose: The purpose of this study are to determine factors influencing the small-sized Muslim merchants in Malaysia to adopt e-wallet and to validate their relationship. Design/methodology/approach: A set of questionnaires was distributed to the 380 small-sized Muslim merchants in two traditional market in Kelantan and Terengganu, Malaysia. This study employed a descriptives statistics for preliminary analysis using SPSS. Findings: The results reveal that all independent variables such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use trust, technology self-efficacy, government support and structural assurance are significantly positively correlated to e-wallet adoption. Research limitations/implications: This study focused on two states only, therefore the findings from this study limits its generalizability. Future research may empirically test these antecedents to other regions in Malaysia and other Muslim countries. Practical implications: This study provides valuable insight for the e-wallet providers and government as well in leveraging their strategies to increase e-wallet adoptions among smallsizes Muslim merchants and accelerating the national aspiration towards a cashless society. Originality/value: The study is the first study that comprehensively identified determinant for e-wallet adoption from merchant context that integrating both technological and religious contexts. The study confirms that the variables identified from previous researchers on customer’s perspective of e-wallet adoption also applicable for merchant’s context. Notably, structural assurance emerges as a new variable influencing e-wallet adoption among Muslim merchants. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Preparing for this new, emerging sector is important since information communication technology (ICT) in the future will certainly depend on QCT, which is built on quantum physics laws to secure the transfer of information. Future quantum technology will not only optimize computers and the internet but also change the way we communicate. This study discusses the importance and impact of QCT in the context of national security, framework, and policy. Furthermore, this paper also discusses the latest research trends of QCT in several countries including the United States, Canada, and China that Malaysia can learn from. In addition to that, this paper traces the development of QCT policy in other countries along with the existing development of security policy and framework in Malaysia. Publication The Effect Of Price Discount And Free Gift On Online Entrepreneurs' Business Performance In Social Commerce(Academia Industry Networks (ACINET), 2021) ;Nor Asiah Yaakub ;Khalil Md NorAhmad JusohMarketing is one of the two main activities in social commerce (s-commerce) where this type of e-commerce is dominated by sole entrepreneurs. Marketing requires a large allocation of cost while financial resources of the online entrepreneurs are limited. Thus, they need to focus on the most effective marketing strategy. Studies pertaining to the effect of marketing tools for online entrepreneurs’ business performance in s-commerce are rather limited. As such, this study assessed the relationships between marketing tools (price discount and free gift) and online entrepreneurs’ business performance in the s-commerce platform. Terdapat beberapa golongan yang kurang bernasib baik dari segi kewangan untuk meneruskan pelajaran seperti golongan asnaffakir dan miskin yang hanya bergantung harap kepada zakat pendidikan untuk melunaskan yuran persekolahan dan mendapatkan bantuan persekolahan. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenalpasti institusi pendidikan yang beroperasi sepenuhnya menggunakan dana zakat, menilai skim dan bentuk bantuan zakat yang diberikan kepada fakir dan miskin oleh institusi zakat serta mencadangkan satu model institusi pendidikan yang beroperasi sepenuhnya melalui pembiayaaan dana zakat. Kajian ini menggunakan metodologi penyelidikan secara kualitatif iaitu mengumpulkan data melalui kajian perpustakaan dengan merujuk laporan dan dokumen dari unit Baitulmal, Majlis Agama Islam dan Pusat Zakat di Malaysia. Hasil kajian ini mencadangkan bahawa satu kerangka atau model institusi pendidikan melalui pembiayaan dana zakat sepenuhnya dapat dibangunkan memandangkan peranan dan sumber dana zakat adalah lebih berterusan dan meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Student’s Perception towards the management of Islamic business and economics undergraduate programs in Malaysian Public Universities:An exploratory study(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2015-06) ;Nurul Aini Muhamed ;Nor Asiah YaakubSiti Nurazira Mohd DaudProgram management in Islamic-based higher education providers (HEPs) is designed to produce an outstanding human capital,which is at last can serve their obedience to Allah SWT,ummah and the environment.These are among the main aims of Islamic-based HEP,which are aligned with the university vision and mission.The ability to produce excellent muslim generations is closely influenced by curriculum and co-curriculum design,teaching and learning methods as well as lecturers knowledge.Despites the demand on various new teaching and learning methods (such as students centered learning – SCL) the viewpoint of students satisfaction should also been considered.It is important to look at this prspective since they are the main explicit stakeholders and directly exposed to various teaching and learning experiences.This paper aims to explore on the perception of final year students from business and economic programs in two aspects (i) curriculum and (ii) co-curriculum practices.This study takes the sample from two Islamic-based higher education institutions that implement Islamic education.The method of this study is the adapted Profiel Accumulation Technique (PAT) introduced by Johns and Lee-Ross to capture an in-depth information.Generally this study shows that there are positive responds on teaching methods,academic integrity and benefits of curricular activities in HEPs.
