Publication Development of an efficient timetable system using angularjs and bootstrap 3(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2019) ;Perumal S.A.L. ;Tabassum M. ;Norwawi N.M.D. ;Samy G.A.L.N. ;Perumal S.A.L. ;Faculty of Science and Technology ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) ;Swinburne University of TechnologyTunku Abdul Rahman University CollegeManaging subjects', lectures and classroom are complex issues in Universities and learning institutions. Programs, subjects' management and timetabling are hectic and time consuming tasks which create multi-dimensional and highly constrained issues in learning institutions. Creating educational timetable manually required a lot of time, several resources and numerous rounds of changes before it has been finalized. Assigning multiple subjects to one lecturer and allocating multiple classroom for different subjects are tough tasks as well and need a solid framework and comprehensive solution. Automatic generation of timetable is an attractive approach as compared to a manual approach. Many applications are available in the industry for this purpose. However, they are expensive in price and charged huge licensing cost yearly. Therefore, in this paper, we are developing a specific timetabling application using open source frameworks. We have used AngularJS, Bootstrap 3, and PHP along other frameworks to design and develop an automatic timetable system which has a graphical user friendly and attractive interface. The developed system has a flexible representation and appropriate methods to create a feasible, automatic timetable and avoid clashes. The system is implemented and tested to create timetables for the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). 2018 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication A review on risk assessment using risk prediction technique in campus network(World Academy of Research in Science and Engineering, 2020) ;Awang N. ;Samy G.A.L.N. ;Hassan N.H. ;Magalingam P.A.P. ;Maarop N.Perumal S.A.L.Risk assessment is an important part of a risk management process to secure information systems. The risk assessment activities helped organizations determine the acceptable level of risk. Understanding and assessing risk is an important process to improve information security in making decisions. Risk prediction is an important part of information security system. In order to security operation center understand their environment, risk prediction technique helped them to create a holistic understanding of the networks, systems, services and applications they are responsible for monitoring. In this research paper, we discussed past related research in doing a risk prediction in conducting a risk assessment activity at the campus network. We have selected 5 key databases in computer science area. We have refined the searching based on subject area, types of document, publication title, index terms, sub-keyword and source title. In doing the screening process, we exclude articles that did not meet research selection criteria based on keyword searching in the papers. From the comprehensive literature search databases searching, we have selected 15 articles related to subject risk prediction conducted in campus network. 2020, World Academy of Research in Science and Engineering.
