Publication Development Of Sexual Orientation Scale. A Study On Gay And Lesbian Behaviour From Malaysian Perspective(ResearchTrentz, 2022) ;Roslee Ahmad ;Lokman Mohd Tahir ;Nasir Yusoff ;Hizral Tazzif HishamRahmiwati MarsinunIntroduction: This study aims to develop sexual orientation scale based on trait of Gay and Lesbian gender disorder from Malaysian socio cultures. The basic model of this measurement instrument is based on Fritz Klein's 7 Dimensions of Sexual Orientation (1993). Methods: This study used a mixed method design which is a combination of interview, document analysis and survey. Based on the case study, 8 Gay and Lesbian respondents were selected purposefully. Gay and Lesbian respondents were interviewed using semi-structured interview techniques. While document analysis used past literature, journals, articles, written documents and Sexual Deviant Behavior questionnaires. Interview findings form themes and are combined with document analysis findings to form a measurement instrument. Next, measuring instruments are developed according to standard procedures (Brown, 1983). Results: The construct validity of the measurement instrument was obtained from 2 counseling experts to form the Roslee Gay Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISGR) and the Roslee Lesbian Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISLR). ISGR inventory traits contain 6 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Expression, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. While the ISLR trait contains 5 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. The ISGR instrument pilot test has a reliability value of 0.76 while the ISLR has a reliability value of 0.75. According to Kerlinger (1979) and Mohd Majid (1990), Cronbach's alpha reliability value above 0.6 is good and acceptable. Conclusions: These two measuring instruments can be used by parents as a measuring instrument to prevent children and teenagers from acting Gay and Lesbian. Thus, early intervention steps can be taken to recover children from Gay and Lesbian gender disorder. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Emotional Substrates In Neuroticism: The Reactions To Arousal-evoking Stimuli Of Various Strengths(Ibn Sina Trust, 2020) ;Nasir Yusof ;Faruque Reza ;Nik NurAzhani AnuarRoslee AhmadObjective: Neuroticism is a medical condition associated with negative affect and is considered to predispose one to mental disorders. This study examined the effects of arousal-evoking stimuli of various strengths on the severity of neuroticism. Materials and Methods: In the Event Related Potential (ERP)/electroencephalograph (EEG) recording session that was held at the Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory at a local hospital, Electroencephalogram was recorded in 58 participants (N=29 for moderate neuroticism and 29 for mild neuroticism) after they were screened for the severity of the neurotic trait. Universal emotional pictures were chosen randomly from the International Affective Picture System (IAPS) and were used as visual stimuli in the experiment. Visual stimuli were divided into three categories (high, moderate, low) based on the IAPS normative mean values of arousal. Results: The significant interaction effect of P300 latency between neuroticism and arousal strength was found in the mid-frontal region. Meanwhile, independent of neuroticism, the main effects of arousal strength of the P300 (amplitude and latency) and N200 (latency) were observed in the mid-central region. Conclusion: There is a significant interaction between the severity of neuroticism and the emotional arousal strength, thus, points to the implication of the emotion process in the brain rewards system especially among individuals with neuroticism. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The analysis used statistic inference using correlation and t-test. Results showed there were significant correlation between acceptance and attitude toward LGBT community among college students and a significant relationship between acceptance and attitude based on gender among students. This also shows although government policies and laws relating to religion limit social, religious and gender equality in Malaysia, however at the college level, students are open, tolerant and accepting of these groups in the society. Therefore, it is recommended that further studies should be carried out among young people of various races, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians as the younger generation is more open-minded and provide services and facilities to better serve this group. In addition, the acceptance and attitudes of LGBT individuals attending primary and secondary schools should be helped to ensure that LGBT groups are not excluded from the national education system. Ninety Form Four students from one of the boarding school was selected as the subject for this study. They have been divided randomly into three groups namely Group A, B and C. This experimental research commences with a pre-test given to the subjects using Tennessee Self-concept Scale:2, Counseling Skill Test and Study Orientation Scale. The Group A subject had the Type A treatment (Peer Counseling Training + Practical Session) whereas Group B subject only attended the Peer Counseling Training (Type B Treatment). Group C serve as the control group. At the end of the research the subject was given with a post-test using the same three instruments during the pre-test. The MANOVA analysis conducted on the pre-test score shows that there’s no significant difference between Group A, B and C’s self-concept, counseling skill and study orientation. However, the MANCOVA analysis conducted upon the post-test shows that there’s significant difference (p=0.000; p<0.05) between Group A, B and C’s self-concept, counseling skill and study orientation. The findings from this research also shows that there’s significant difference for subjects’ self-concept, counseling skill and study orientation between Group A and B even though their training difference is only by a practical session. The researcher finds that the existence of peer counseling group in educational institution will be able to improvise the level of counseling management. At the same time, it enhances the students’ leadership as they change to be an effective role model to their peer and thus leads to successful Muslim generation.
