Publication Identifying The Ethical Issues In Twitter: A Knowledge Acquisition For Ontology(Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UM, 2021) ;Mohamad Hafizuddin Mohamed Najid ;Zahidah Zulkifli ;Roslina Othman ;Rohaiza RokisAshraf Ali SalahuddinSocial media is an open platform to communicate, share and exchange information freely. This uncontrolled exchanged information carries out both negative and positive impacts in others’ lives. In this regard, this study aims to identify ethical issues on this information in line with Ibn Khaldun’s ethical considerations. Out of many other social networking sites, Twitter has been identified as one of the most popular microblogging social networking platforms. Using a simple algorithm in R programming and 43 keywords based on Ibn Khaldun’s thoughts, 1075 public tweets have been extracted from Twitter as a sample of ethical issues. The sentiment analysis in Parallel Dots was performed on the collected tweets, and it was discovered that 700 of the tweets are positive statements, 229 are neutral statements, and 146 are negative statements. Having done the validation process on these sentiments, the study proposed these identified ethical issues from tweets as a domain in developing ontology relationships with Ibn Khaldun’s thoughts. In this process, further study can be carried on with wider data from various sources beyond the limitation of this study. Thus, a semantic database could serve as a guideline for SNS ethical issues based on Ibn Khaldun’s thoughts. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Muslim Scholars and Experts Views on Cryptocurrencies: A Systematic Literature Review(USIM Press, 2023) ;Roslina Othman ;Mohamad Fauzan Noordin ;Mahfooz Ahmed ;Nadzrah AhmadSalina KassimMuslim scholars and experts have given their views on issues related to the permissive and prohibitive use of cryptocurrencies. Scholars and experts’ decisions were of three categories: permitted the use of cryptocurrency; prohibited its use based on Islamic principles; and tawaqquf, yet to make their final decision on the acceptance or otherwise. The main objective of this study was to systematically examine and organize the various studies and research that explored known common ideasamong Muslim scholars and experts on issues related to the use of cryptocurrency in Muslim communities. This study adopted the PRISMA guideline of reporting a systematic literature review, where it identified and explored available literature in Scopus, Emerald Insight, and Google Scholar, related to Muslim scholars' and experts’ decisions on the use of cryptocurrency. With the increasing use of cryptocurrency globally, the topic has also rapidly grown among Muslim scholars and experts, which has created aneed for a real conclusion and justification for the people to hold on to. The systematic literature review revealed that the Muslim scholars and experts’ views on cryptocurrencies can be sub-categorized further: permitted its use (requirements compliant, regulations, justified reasons, wide acceptance, and gold-backed), prohibited its use (speculative nature, restrictions by authorities, fewer benefits, and religious beliefs), and tawaqquf (potentials for improvement, PMBC, Islamic cryptocurrencies, and backed Dinar and Dirham crypto). The conceptual contribution of this study was that views expressed by Muslim scholars and experts on cryptocurrencies be categorized for public consumption and guide in understanding issues. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Ontological Methodologies for Counselling Intervention: Do’a and Zikr Al-Ma’thur Corpus(College of Science for Women/ University of Baghdad, 2021) ;Roslina OthmanSiti Fatimah Mohd TawilDo’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur (authentic supplications and remembrance of ALLAH ‘Azza wa Jalla) can be suggested to Muslims to help them deal with challenges or issues in life. Counselling cases affect a person’s feelings. Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur are often applied as a counselling intervention. Unfortunately, the authentic Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur are dispersed in many resources not visible to users, and the fact that not all online resources offer access to accurate Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur to users and the dubious Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur frequently credited to the Prophet (pbuh). The goal of this research is to develop an ontology for the purpose of providing credible results to counselling cases in need of relevant Do’a and Zikr Al- Ma’thur. This research focused on presenting how an ontology could support to provide accurate information to cases supervised by high school counsellors. This research developed the ontology for Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur for counselling in Protégé. The methodology implemented in the ontology development included the models designed by Fernandez-Lopez et al., Thunkijjanukij, Gomez-Perez et al., and Kreider. The ontology was verified, validated, and evaluated by two subject domain experts. Most concepts were rated as ‘Compliant’ and some as ‘Partially Compliant’. Queries in SPARQL produced answers to the competency questions. Feedbacks from the user assessment proved that the executed results from the Do’a and Zikr al-Mā’thur ontology for counselling succeeded in fulfilling the users’ requirement. It is recommended that the sustainability of the ontology should be secured through constant submission of real cases by counsellors and people with similar roles for query analysis and results. Credible scholars should provide direction to trustworthy sources. Such essential input is valuable for content management and contributes towards very few domain ontologies that deliver support to professional works. It also provides the step-by-step procedures to ontology construction and assessment for Islamic collection for counselling intervention. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Rights Of Women During Marriage From Qura'nic Perspectives With Cross-reference To The Law In Malaysia: An Analysis(Serials Publication, New Delhi (India), 2019) ;Nadzrah Ahmad ;Norzulaili Mohd Ghazali ;Roslina Othman ;Nurul Syuhada IsmailRahmawati Mohd YusoffWomen’s rights issues in relation to marriage are the most significant topic of debate in many countries. Marriage is regularly portrayed as an “oppressive sphere” for women, with their rights being oppressed the moment they enter a marriage contract, especially in Islam. However, in many cases, Islamic matrimony has been demonstrated to liberate women, preserve their honour and place in society, and abolish injustice when guided by principles from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). In general, misconception regarding the Muslims is caused by cultural interpretation and malpractice of the original Islamic teachings, which have tainted the true Islamic ideal. This study addresses the rights of women in marriage from the Qur’anic perspective and from the maqasid shariah approach. It also examines the concept by referring to the laws in Malaysia and explores the issue of whether the Malaysian laws uphold the rights of women or not. The discussion is based on the related Qur’anic verses including their tafsir, and supported with the Hadith of the Prophet. Consecutively, the paper analyses the rights of women in the laws of Malaysia, with support from any related cases law. This library research examines the topic from the viewpoints of the Qur’an and the Sunnah as the primary sources of Islamic law, followed by an analysis on the statutes of laws in Malaysia and several relevant decided cases. In addition, the opinions of scholars regarding the issue on the rights of women in marriage are also taken into consideration in the analysis. It is hoped that the study may provide a clear reference and guideline regarding the rights of women in marriage from both the Islamic and Malaysian laws as this topic is highly significant and beneficial to numerous parties in the present day.
