Publication The Intergration Concept Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge: Study On Students' Perception(Int Organization Center Acad Research, 2017) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Aziz, AA ;Ishak, WANW ;Shariff, S ;Hasbullah, RSubri, IMIntegrating Naqli and Aqli knowledge is the vision of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Malaysia, to transform and create value for country, ummah and humanity. This concept becomes fundamental in university's curriculum for students that pursuing their studies in a various disciplines of knowledge. It is in line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan, which aims to create young generation who are knowledgeable, have an ability to think critically and creatively, have a strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively at the global stage. The study intends to examine the perception of students that adhere to curriculum that based on the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge, especially in USIM. Data was obtained through distributed questionnaire form to students about their perception towards curriculum of integrating Naqli and Aqli knowledge. 114 students from Tamhidi were selected as respondents in this study case. The study found that majority of respondents have a basic knowledge about the integration of knowledge since their secondary school. This is because mostly they came from religious secondary school from either federal, state or private school. The study also found that the subject- based Islamic Education plays an important role as it gives an overview of the integration of Naqli and Aqli. Majority of respondents were able to differentiate between the two knowledge, however this study shows that it was difficult for them to present some examples that explain the integration of both knowledge. In addition, this study revealed that majority of respondents get clear information regarding to the integration of both knowledge in the courses offered by the department. As a student of USIM, the majority of respondents are aware that the institution is a public university that implements integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge in offered curriculum. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Naqli Knowledge Course-Based: An Overview Of Students' Perception(OCERINT International Organization Center of Academic Research, 2017) ;Aziz, AA ;Ibrahim, MA ;Ishak, WANW ;Shariff, S ;Hasbullah, RSubri, IMThis research analyses Al-Mabadik Al-Fiqhiyyah (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) as one of a compulsory course that should be taken by the students from Tamhidi Shariah and Law students in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Thus, this research aims to discover students' perception regarding this course, including the level of difficulty and how far does this subject benefit them especially when it comes to contemporary issues to ensure the effectiveness of teaching and learning process. This study also revealed their ability to differentiate with the other course that should be taken during first semester as well, which is Al-Madkhal ila al-Syari'ah and the relationship with other disciplines. They might have quite similar perception towards this course since they have been exposed to this field since their secondary school. The observation concludes that generally the students are able to understand the content of the course, relate it with contemporary issues and aware that this course indirectly connected with three main fiqh branches: Fiqh, Usul Al-Fiqh and Qawa'id Al-Fiqhiyyah. This course also provides basic knowledge of Islamic Law, fiqh terminology as well as skills required in Islamic legal system. Those who are succeed to finish all courses within the two semesters prescribed period of Tamhidi level will further their studies whether in Bachelor of Fiqh and Fatwa or Bachelor of Law and Shariah at Faculty of Shariah and Law. The course required students to complete 4 credit hours for the whole semester as one of the conditions. In line with USIM's principle which is the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge, this study found the importance of this concept for the development of education, institution and faculty, as well as widen the scope of the prescribed courses. Furthermore, education is one of the processes for country development by producing netizens with high level of intellectuality and can contribute for the better nation especially through universities' curriculum. The result from this study will be a benchmark for Tamhidi centre to continue and do some improvement in teaching and learning process without leaving behind the concept of the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge.
