Publication 50 Days Of War On Innocent Civilian: Ma'an News Agency Coverage Of Israeli And Palestinian Conflict(Science Publishing Corporation, 2018) ;Wesam AlmahallawiHasmah ZanuddinSince the TV broadcasting was established in Arab countries until the 1990s, broadcasting during this specific time was based on a government control model, which derived from the view of broadcasting as an instrument of state advance that must be under the control from government. This kind of TVs, limits the broadcasting to highlight the government issue (1). In these kind of TVs, they focus with the leader’s opinion more than the Palestinian problem. By the way, the theme in Arab media determined to highlight the leader’s opinion who claims the right to speak on behalf of Palestinians. In September 1991, the first private TV in the Arab world was established when MBC went on the air from London. More private TVs followed after that like: Orbit in 1994 and ART in 1995, both based in Italy owned by Saudi businessmen, Future Television and LBC, both Lebanese based in Beirut, in 1995, and Al-Jazeera based in Qatar in 1996. In 2002 the number of the Arab TV stations was expanded to more than 150 TVS as government or privately owned, with capability of reaching the Arab people in any place in the world. This paper focuses on the media coverage of the conflict between two parties Palestine and Israel. The preview studies show that, in a conflict the media has an influential role and has responsibility for increasing violence or contributing to the resolution of conflict and mitigation of violence (2). This study examined 61 news coverage and framing of the Israel and Palestine conflict, known as the 50 days’ war from 8 July – 26 August 2014 by Ma’an News Agency, which delivers news to Ma’an TV (Palestinian satellite television station). A quantitative content analysis was employed to examine the news published during the war using five generic frames developed by (3). Holsti Inter-coder reliability and validity test value is 0.988 or 98% agreement. The results showed that conflict and human-interest frames were significantly visible compared to other frames in Ma’an news coverage. Portrayal of images of civilian killing, children and women killed in their homes and suffrage news coverage, in this war. Responsibility frame stressed on hospitals bombing and embargo of medications which reduced chances for Palestinian of immediate medical help. The economic frame highlighted the economic and financial losses of Palestinians as consequences of 50 days’ war. Most of them lost their income, businesses, agriculture land and homes and became refugees. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

AlhosaryThe holly city of Jerusalem is a crucial element that cannot be ignored in the components of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict over the land. Jerusalem is considered the reason for revolutions and uprisings for the Palestinians to end the occupation of their land. Despite this importance, it suffered from a change in the concepts and presence in the agenda of the main Palestinian faction, particularly Fatah. This study uses the agenda-setting theory to examine the political agenda of Fatah through analyzing the news coverage and media discourse of Palestine Satellite Channel. The study is qualitative in nature, as it employed the content analysis method to reach the desired results. The results indicated that the news coverage and highlights of AlQuds/Jerusalem totally stem from the agenda of Fatah. When the faction dropped its armed resistance dogma and adopted the new agenda of negotiations with Israel, the discourse of the faction has changed completely. The results revealed that the basic concept of Jerusalem has become more acceptor of having one capital for two states, which contradicts with the basic beliefs of the Palestinian people. Also, the results showed that the channel emphasized on highlighting secular and nationalistic concepts of the city rather than religious. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

This quantitative comparative study conducted on a sample size 1360 participants anticipated, the research is willing to establish a theoretical frame eligible to be implemented and concerned by the universities in both countries. The presence of an average level in the extent to which news directors at the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation adhere to international media standards. The existence of a correlation between the extent of the commitment of news directors in the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation to international media standards and the accuracy of the media news. The existence of statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance (? = 0.05) in the impact of the commitment of news directors in the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation to international media standards on the accuracy of the media news due to demographic variables. Publication Framing of Covid-19 Pandemic News in Malaysian Local Newspapers(UKM Press, 2022) ;Wesam AlmahallawiNorhayati Rafida Abdul RahimAs a reliable means for the public, mass media is a critical medium to be used to disseminate information predominantly in crisis. At the end of 2019, the world faced a new pandemic, later known as the COVID-19 pandemic, after scientists identified the virus that caused this infection. The media coverage of this cause accelerated and became more expansive after the spread of a group of shocking pictures of infected cases who died on the roads and streets due to this disease. People have turned to the mass media to find out what was happening, and at the same time, media outlets interacted differently with this pandemic. In particular, this study seeks to reveal the news framing used by the most popular local newspapers in Malaysia. This study, therefore, examines the five mainframes developed by Semetko & Valkenburg: conflict, attribution of responsibility, human interest, economics, and morality. This sampling involves the News Straits Times and The Star from April 1 to April 10, 2022. This study concludes that both newspapers NST and The Star reported the Covid-19 pandemic with all the five generic frames in this order (attribution of responsibility, human interest, economic frame, morality frame, and conflict frame), where the attribution of responsibility frame is the most used frame, and the conflict frame is the least used in both media outlets, the second significant result in this study concludes that NST used these generic frames more than The Star newspaper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Media Framing Approach Of Israelis And Palestinian Conflict(Future Academy, 2017) ;Hasmah ZanuddinWesam AlmahallawiThe Media takes an active part in the conflict it has responsibility for the raised violence, and play an independent role in the conflict, in order to find a solution or at least mitigate the violence Puddephatt (2006). With regard to the media frames, each TV uses some different frames to build news based on specific concepts related to that TV. Therefore, this study uses the case study of Israel and Palestine conflict to examine the Ma’an news coverage of Israeli’s and Palestinian conflict, according to media framing approach. A content analysis was conducted of news broadcasted Ma’an TV. Over the 50 days’ war, violent clashes have erupted in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, with youths taking to the streets to protest against an occupation that has lasted almost half a century. Israel used excessive force in its response toward Palestinian people, this led to many deaths among Palestinians. According to the Ma’an, between July 7 and August 26, 2014, at least 2131 Palestinians were killed in Gaza as a result of Israel’s “Operation Protective Edge.” Ma’an use Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, as their news source and a total of 2168 Palestinians were killed, while the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) put the total number of Palestinian fatalities at 2191 (Peace 2014). Furthermore, the UN said that there were 373,000 children in Gaza strip require specialized psychosocial support. On the other hand, 71 Israelis were killed, including four civilians, and 66 soldiers (Joronen 2016). In a developing country like Saudi Arabia, exhibiting a significant population of young people who use social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter extensively, the opportunities for these terrorist organisations increase manifold. They use social media platforms to spread hate content and communicate directly with vulnerable youth population to influence them to join their organisation. The main problem that will be addressed in this research is the issues with the exposure and control. Exposure to terrorism and radical contents on social media sites is hampering the ideal living of youth of Saudi Arabia and this study focuses on the role of family education and restricted usage of social media to address the imminent issue. The fundamental aim of the study is to evaluate whether ideal living can be achieved by the young population by reducing exposure and influence by radical contents through family education and restricted social media usage. Research questions like whether ideal living can be achieved through family education and whether restricted social media usage can support ideal living for the youth provide a concise direction to the development of the research methods. For this a mixed research method has been obtained with appropriate questionnaire based instrumentation to survey a sample of 30 young Saudi Arabian people 5 managers from different NGOs in Saudi Arabia. Qualitative data has also been accumulated from secondary sources obtained from an extensive literature review and the data has been interpreted to find out whether family education and restricted usage of social media serves the purpose of reducing exposure to radical content and promote ideal living for the youth. RahmanNorhayati Rafida Abdul RahimThe study aims to reveal the role that media professionals have in producing news materials on Al Hayat Radio and Jordan Radio. An analytical and descriptive approach is indicated in order to achieve the research objectives. The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The research included a sample of 80 directors from Radio Al-Hayat and Jordanian Radio in Jordan. The results of the research revealed that the level of the role that news managers have in the production of news materials in Radio Al-Hayat and Jordan Radio was at a high level, and there are statistically significant differences in the level of skills that news managers possess in producing news materials. Attributed to the variables of gender, age, experience and educational qualifications, and there are statistically significant differences in the level of skills between news managers in both radio stations in favor of Radio Life. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The Israeli occupation state considered what was happening as an opportunity to penetrate Arab public opinion, to achieve what it had been unable to achieve for decades by communicating with Arab peoples and influencing its attitudes towards the Arab-Israeli conflict. Accordingly, this research mainly discussed utilizing digital diplomacy in the Israeli discourse to influence Arab public opinion during the Israeli aggression on Gaza in 2021. Digital diplomacy is a new form of diplomacy based on soft powers in order to influence Arab public opinion by addressing their emotions. The study uses content analysis approach to examine the content of the publications broadcasted on the “Israel Speaks Arabic” page on the “Facebook” website to reveal the frames of reference for the Israeli digital diplomatic discourse, and the active forces within the content published on social media. The study relied on an intentional 12-day sample (starting from May 10 to May 21 of the year 2021), which amounted to (120) publications. The study concluded that the “Israel speaks Arabic” page used a professional digital diplomatic discourse. As well as it relied on profiling and framing methods in its publications aiming to influence Arab public opinion and control their awareness in order to pass the Israeli narrative and deepen the gap between the Palestinian resistance and Arab public opinion by framing the Palestinian resistance with terrorism. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
