Publication Al-Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Ash'ari al-Malizi and His Methodology in "Intisari Tafsir Juzu' Amma"(Penerbit Univ Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2011)Yusoff, AMAl-Sheikh Abu Bakar al-Ashaari is considered as one of the modern Islamic scholars who are very active in calling for reformations in religious life of Muslim society in Malay Archipelago, in order to create the civilised society as needed. He devotes all his efforts and strengths to achieve this hope through the speechs, books, and public services. The book, 'Intisari Tafsir Juzu' Amma', written by him is the complete exegesis of the last chapter of al-Qur'an and it is one of his contributions to society through writing to correct people understanding and raise their conciousness and spirit to achieve the ambition. He uses an interesting approach and special methodology in his book to reform the religious life of Muslim society in this region. The purpose of this research is to study the methodology implemented by al-Sheikh Abu Bakar Ashaari in his book and present it to readers with the examples. It is also to analyse the relation between his methodology and other scholars methodology in the context of exegesis discipline in the global level. It is a library research which is based on the deep study on the book and related analytical aspects through historical exegesis books. This study resulted that al-Sheikh Abu Bakar Ashaari has combined Salaf methodology and current need of society. The study also found that his methods have strong relation with the development of exegesis discipline and its scholars. Hopefully this research could highlight one of Malaysian exegesis scholars and show the real view about the Qur'anic exegesis movement and its standing in the context of development generally in this region which is located far from knowledge evolution centre and Islamic scholars especially Qur'anic interpretators. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Criticism on the Quran: An Analysis of John of Damascus and Leo III's Works(American Scientific Publishers, 2018) ;Yusoff, AM ;Azmi, AS ;Ahmad, H ;Amat, RAMAhmad, WAWIntellectual encounters between Muslim and non-Muslim at the early formative period of Islam stimulate each follower to launch a defensive mode for each religious authority. Apologetic acts of each follower to defend their doctrinal party at this period were regarded as an honour in the eye of believers. Christians were not excluded from this phenomenon. Some of their followers have blast off a critical assessment on Islam, especially on the Quran. This article explores and analyses early criticism on the Quran that were embedded in the works of John of Damascus and Leo III correspondences to Umar Abdul Aziz. Researchers employed textual analysis on the selected works in order to extract the patterns and themes of criticism casted by the authors in their works. The study in its findings argue that that criticism produced by John of Damascus and Leo III became the foundational premise and contribute to the development or framework which was became more systematic for modern studies to convey their critical thought on the Quran. Their works have been referred to by scholars repeatedly and employed as though they are the sole or main reference in the modern studies of Islamic law and regulation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Human Capital Development in the Quran: A Scriptural Model(Amer Scientific Publishers, 2018) ;Yusoff, AM ;Azmi, AS ;Ahmad, H ;Amat, RAMAhmad, WAWIt is beyond doubt that human capital has been identified as the most valuable asset for a country. It has to be developed through integrated educational system so that the potential in each individual could be nurtured and enhanced to accommodate the nation's need for work force in all sectors. Exploring the historical Muslim accounts, scholars expound that the Quran plays a crucial role for human capital development of early Muslim community. Thus, this study seeks to explore the nature and model of human capital as designed by the Quran in order to transform and shape the early Muslims community to attain the status of khayr ummah. The main objective of this study is to identify the basic model of Quranic human capital development that serve as guidance in the formative period of Islamic civilization. Some significant examples of its implementation during their glorious era will be adduced. This study is indeed a descriptive in nature. It will also employed a critical textual analysis on relevant parts of Quranic verses, Muslim exegesis, classical Islamic texts and relevant modern Islamic figures. The concept of thematic studies (mawdu'i interpretation method) is utilised as main approach to identify significant pillars of Quranic human capital development. The study in its findings affirms that the Quran has its own holistic and unique model in developing human capital which not only able to bring changes but also pour blessings to humankind. The study has also shown that the model proposed by the Quran has been applied by several generations during the Muslim's victorious reign and the model remains relevant to be continuously implemented by future generations. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Industrial Training In The State Of Selangor, As A Complement To The Curriculum Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge Integration: A Survey Of Organizations Favoured By The Students Of The Faculty Of Quranic And Sunnah Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia(Int Organization Center Acad Research, 2016) ;Ibrahim, MA ;Yusoff, AM ;Shaker, MH ;Alhamidy, AQU ;Sheriff, SS ;Rahim, RZakaria, ARIndustrial training has become an important activity for every higher learning institution these days. It is a form of experiential learning for a student after going through a period of acquiring theoretical knowledge in the lecture room. It does not have a standard scale for all universities around the world in terms of the time and duration of training. Some universities set it for a period of one semester and some set it to be longer than a semester of study. In terms of time to undergo the training, some institutions specified that students have to undergo training at the final semester, i.e the study session for the whole bachelor's degree level ends as soon as the student has completed his/her training. Some institutions require students to return and continue their study at the university, after completing their industrial training session. As for students of the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, they are required to undergo this training in the eighth semester, i.e. at the last semester of the final year of their bachelor's degree programme. Upon completion of the industrial training session, they are considered to have completed the curriculum at that level. It is during this training that students practice what they have learnt through out all the lectures at the faculty, especially the integrated knowledge of Naqli and Aqli. This study looked at some organizations which are favoured by students of the faculty as their choice for industrial training in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. Organizations frequently preferred by students include Awan Metro Sdn Bhd, Darul Syakir Enterprise, Islamic Religious Office of Kuala Langat District, National University of Malaysia, Transform Training & Consultancy, Faqeh Foundation, Akademi Fakih Intellect, Tabung Haji Office, PTS Media Group Sdn Bhd and Selangor Institute of Dakwah and Training. These organizations have various different backgrounds such as federal government departments, state government departments, statutory bodies, non-governmental organizations and private companies. In conclusion, the students of the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies of the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia are interested in organizations of various backgrounds regardless of whether they are private companies or government departments in making choices for their industrial training. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Pendekatan Baharu al-Shaykh ‘Abd Allah al-Ghadamsi dan al-Imam Muhammad ‘Abduh dalam Memajukan Masyarakat Islam(Penerbit Univ Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2016) ;Yusoff, AM ;Said, NLMSobali, AMAl-Shaykh 'Abd Allah al-Ghadamsi is one of the figures who were contributing a lot in the history of the rise of Muslim community in Malaya. His presence in Malaya was on the request of figures and local Islamic activists to lead the mission to progress Islamic society in this region and release them from ignorance, retrogression and weakness. In parallel with the rise of global Muslim societies who commonly were under the colonial control especially in Middle East, which considered as the centre of the rise of Islam, the leaders' presence from there was cordially welcomed. Nevertheless, this mission was not an easy duty. So as to realise this noble dream, there were so many challenges and obstacles from external and internal parties had been faced. Through the study on the approach brought by this scholar and the response from his contemporary style, it seems like the history of struggle of a scholars' emergence and modern Islamic activist pioneering figure named al-Imam Muhammad 'Abduh, in several ways. Comparatively, this study aims the approach applied by these two scholars to develop the Muslim community in their places, its reaction which was received because of that approach, and the method used to overcome the challenges based on their wisdom and grit for the sake of the struggle contiunity. This qualitative research is formed by data collection from various sources and analysed to respond related issues following the framework has been decided. For Islamic studies amongst public research universities, they will need to study this course in order to complete their studies' credit hour to fulfil the requirement of their respective faculty. Hence, this study focused on students' perception of Ulum Al-Quran course in higher education at two research universities namely; National University of Malaysia (UKM) and University of Malaya (UM). The aims of this research are to know the perception of students about Ulum Al-Quran course, the acceptance of Ulum Al-Quran course outline and Ulum Al-Quran reference book or syllabus. The results from the respondents' feedbacks, is expected to assist the public research universities and the lecturers; especially the department of Islamic Studies, to assess the strengths and weaknesses of what has been done in implementing the lesson towards better improvement in Ulum Al-Quran studies. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Purification of Soul (Islah al-Nafs) in the Quran: An Analysis of Al-Ghazali's Method(American Scientific Publishers, 2018) ;Yusoff, AM ;Azmi, AS ;Ahmad, H ;Amat, RAMAhmad, WAWThis article is an effort to bring forth guidelines and code of purification of soul (manhaj islah al-nafs) as presented in the Quran from the perspective of Al-Ghazali, one of the most prominent mujaddid (reformer) in the history of Islamic thought. The main objective of the study is to explore the concept of purification of heart in the Quran, extract its method according to al-Ghazali's views and provide guidance in form of tasawwur (conceptualization) as required from each Muslim individual in their interaction with the Quran. The study is qualitative in nature in which the researchers employed textual analysis on the theories and methods adduced by al-Ghazali in his Kitab Adab al-Tilawah, one of the chapter in his magnum opus, Ihya' Ulum al-Din. The work has been selected for the scope of study due to its status as one of the important work, produced by distinguished scholar who offered concrete and comprehensive discourse in this field. His ideas and thoughts on manhaj tadabbur have been considered as a major reference by many great scholars of tafsir including al-Qurtubi, al-Nawawi, al-Suyuti, and Muhammad Abduh. The study in its finding proposed specific guidelines on purification of heart through the concept of tadabbur. It also confirmed that manhaj islah al-nafs has been practiced and promoted by many Muslim scholars as a guideline to eradicate undesirable impurities in line with moral code (akhlaq) in order to produce a better Muslim world. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Trusting other parties to manage the property whether he or she is still alive or after death is one form of trust that has been practiced by the Islamic society nowadays. According to Islamic law, there are various forms of trust either it is justified by the situation before or after death. Both situations have different concept of trust which in the end, will produce different legal results. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to study a suitable concept of trust that is applicable as an instrument of Islamic property management. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis as the design of the research. The research outcomes conclude that there are two concepts of trust in Islam that can act as trust instrument in planning and management of Islamic property which is wakElah dan wiIoyah. Both concepts have certain terms that needs to be fulfilled to enable contract enforcement. The law legislation related to trust of Islamic property must be conducted in detail by the authority as a guidance to the industry in providing products related to the trust of Islamic property.
