The aim of this preliminary study was looking at the experiences of family support by people in recovery from drug addiction. This study employs a qualitative format using semi-structured interviews with four recovering drug users. Several themes were identified and discussed in relation to the literature on family support of people in recovery. The results highlight the importance of family support in the recovery of drug addiction. Suggestions and recommendations are also included. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Previous studies show that Facebook had globally registered over 750 million active users, with half of them logging on to the side daily (Facebook Statistics, Stats and Facts for 2011).However, there is still limited understanding and study about the level of Facebook usage, especially among the Muslim youthsin Malaysia. This study addresses this gap by exploring the level of Facebook usage and its impact on Muslim youths religion understanding. The data of this study has been collected from Muslim youths in Nilai district, Malaysia through survey and interview. The findings show that the Facebook usage among Muslim youths in Malaysia is at medium level (M = 2.94, S.D = 0.93). The findings from in depth interview also reveal that the Facebook can be use as one of the sources religion understanding. This study provides valuable knowledge and understanding about the usage of Facebook among Muslim youths in Malaysia and its impact on their religion knowledge. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Rafidi JusohKesejahteraan mental adalah merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam diri manusia yang seharusnya diberikan perhatian utama dalam proses rawatan dan pemulihan penagih dadah. Terdapat pelbagai instrumen psikologi yang boleh digunakan untuk menentukan tahap kesejahteraan mental seseorang individu dan populasi. Salah satu instrumen yang sesuai digunakan adalah the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS). Ia merupakan sebuah instrumen psikologi yang dibangunkan khusus untuk menilai tahap kesejahteraan mental dalam kalangan individu dan populasi normal. Instrumen ini diperolehi daripada Bahagian Pengurusan Psikologi, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia. Artikel ini memperincikan proses terjemahan dan kesahan instrumen WEMWBS yang mengandungi 20 item positif berskala Likert 5-mata yang terdiri daripada 14 item mengukur tahap kesihatan mental dan enam item mengukur kesihatan spiritual. Proses terjemahan dan kesahan instrumen ini dijalankan oleh empat orang pakar dalam bidang psikologi dan kaunseling yang mempunyai kemahiran dwi-bahasa (Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris) menggunakan teknik terjemahan semula (back-to-back translation technique) dan kesahan muka (face validity). Kajian rintis telah dijalankan melibatkan 51 orang peserta in-patient program rawatan, perubatan dan pemulihan di Klinik Cure and Care 1Malaysia (C&C1M) Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, bertujuan untuk melihat tahap kebolehpercayaan WEMWBS yang telah diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Melayu. Data yang dikumpulkan daripada sampel kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science versi 20 (SPSS v20). Hasil analisis kebolehpercayaan mendapati nilai Alpha Cronbach adalah 0.91 iaitu sangat tinggi. Keputusan ini menunjukkan bahawa instrumen WEMWBS versi Bahasa Melayu sesuai digunakan untuk mengukur tahap kesejahteraan mental dalam kalangan individu normal yang terlibat dalam penyalahgunaan dadah di Malaysia. Ia juga senang ditadbir dan tidak mengambil masa yang lama untuk dijawab oleh responden. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan tahap kesejahteraan mental dan spiritual yang rendah dalam kalangan bekas peserta program rawatan C&C1M. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Jalil ;Zaliridzal Zakaria ;Othman A.RahmanZulfadhli HamzahThe higher education environment in most developing countries, including Malaysia have become more competitive, particularly to increase the number of students’ enrollment. This paper aimed to find factors that the students consider upon their higher education program. It is crucial for higher learning institution to understand the perceptions and expectations of students and transform them into marketing activities that will attract potential students. Past research stated that higher education has become a positional good in which some institutions and programs offer are seen, in the eyes of students, parents and employers, as better social status and lifetime opportunities. This study involved 1000 respondents among students from Islamic secondary schools throughout Malaysia. Descriptive analysis was used to identify the factors students considered as crucial in their choice and decision making. The findings show that interest to academic program is the highest choice while career opportunities made the second. The findings have implications for related university positioning in a diversifying recruitment market, and for a reconsideration of marketing and recruitment strategy at institutional levels.
