Abstract

The study is based on a preliminary study of linguistic needs analysis of Arabic for Islamic tourism. The study uses the “need analysis philosophy” of language teaching mainly from Hutchinson and Waters theory to collect information about the needs of learners, which consists of three elements; necessities, lacks, and wants. The “necessities”is to detect the factors of Arab tourists chose Malaysia and spesifically Selangor as the Islamic tourism destination. The “lacks”is to define the perception of using the Arabic language in Islamic tourism sector. Meanwhile, the “wants” is to identify the will of Arab tourist to use Arabic language in Islamic tourism sector. The result of the study finally proposes module of Arabic for Islamic Tourism In Selangor.
