Abstract
Ganoderma lucidum is a red-colored species of Ganoderma with a limited distribution in Europe and parts of China, where it grows on decaying hardwood trees. The present study deals with decolorization of Methyl Orange by Ganoderma Lucidum. This dye is difficult to degrade so to overcome this problem, an efficient method was developed to degrade this dye. Ganoderma Lucidum could carry out decolorization of Methyl Orange in a wide range of 150mg/L of dye concentration, at unexposed place. By adding 4 carbon source which is glucose, galactose, lactose and starch, we carry out complete decolourization of Methyl Orange by Ganoderma Lucidum within 11 days. The degradation of dye was studied by UV- vis.
