Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of training at work on job satisfaction and job performance for imams and preachers in the Governorate of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman .
The study was based on two of the oldest and best schools in management science:
Firstly, the Classical School (the scientific management theory of Frederick Taylor
1856-1915, the theory of administrative division of the thinker Henri Fayol 1841-1925,
and the bureaucratic theory of the thinker Max Weber 1864-1920). Secondly, the study is based on the behavioral school (the theory of human relations movement of the
thinker Elton Mayo and his colleagues 1927-1932, the theory of needs of the thinker
Abraham Maslow 1954, and the theory of workers of Frederick Herzburg (1959). These two schools dealt with job performance and delved into its aspects. The study adopted
the descriptive analytical approach, and used linear regression to show the relationship between training and job satisfaction, as the percentage of the relationship between them
amounted to (29.2%), In order to show the relationship between training and job performance, the researcher used multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed
that there was an effective relationship between training and job performance, which amounted to (9.9%). In order to show that there is an effective relationship between training needs and job satisfaction, the researcher used multivariate analysis of variance, and the result showed a percentage of 79.9%. Furthermore, the results of the study showed the role and effectiveness between the axis of performance efficiency and
modern techniques for the variable of training at work on job satisfaction and job
performance. The results proved that there is a statistical significance of the training
needs on job satisfaction, and its absence on job performance. The study also concluded
that there is a discrepancy in the statistical differences between the variable of training
effectiveness, job satisfaction and job performance, according to the variable of gender and geographical scope. The study recommended the necessity of activating the role of
training in providing religious cadres with all the new skills and capabilities necessary
to implement the requirements of the job in a manner that suits the aspirations of society
and legalizing the quality of training programs and specifying them to suit the nature of
the job for each employee of religious cadres .
