dc.description.abstract	The research deals with a type of contemporary deviation in the interpretation of the Holy Qur 'an, namely: esoteric spiritual interpretation. This trend of hermeneutics has emerged because of the move away from the correct understanding of revelation and its failure to follow the rules of hermeneutics as expressed or agreed by Quran commentators, and the appearance of trends of contemporary deviant interpretations. Contemporary esoteric spiritual ideas have also been in vogue among some Muslims in recent times because of their promotion by Western influencers attracted to Eastern and Gnostic philosophies. The danger lies in the attempt to Islamize those ideas and misinterpret the texts of the Holy Quran to pass and justify the vogue of those deviant ideas, which led to the spread of these ideas among members of society, the demolition of their doctrinal and legitimate structure, the weak adherence to the constants and origins of religion, and the emergence of strange ideas and practices. This research was an attempt to respond to this type of interpretation and explore the factors of its emergence, its errors and the consequent problems. The researcher used the descriptive approach to introduce the contemporary esoteric spiritual hermeneutics and identifying the factors that led to the emergence of this trend of hermeneutics, and then the inductive approach to explain the problems of spiritual hermeneutics that violate the rules of hermeneutics, scientific methodology, and to underscore its criticism, and the contractual and legislative problems. The researcher then used the critical analytical approach to respond to their allegations. One of the most important results is that modern spirituality is based on a mixture of the concepts of Eastern religions, paganism, and atheistic Western philosophies. It has also been proven that those affected by spirituality have demolished all the rules of interpretation, showed ignorance and disregard for the sayings of companions, and paid no attention to the sayings of the predecessors and successors. It is confirmed that this spiritual trend leads to the deification of man and the absence of the concept of glorifying Allah and the status of prophecy. It also affected the legislative aspect: the underestimation of devotional rituals, the replacement of costs, rituals and worship with spiritual practices and the deviant interpretation of devotional Sharia rulings.
