Penyelewengan Hadis Jihad Kitab Al-Jihad Wa Al-Siyar Sahih Al-Bukhari: Analisis Ulama Hadis

This study addresses the issue of the distortion and misinterpretation of ḥadīths related to jihād, which are often manipulated by certain groups to serve extremist agendas. Such distortions not only compromise the public’s understanding of the true concept of jihād in Islam but also tarnish the image of the religion itself. Thisresearch adopts a qualitative library-based methodology, referring primarily to Ṣaḥīḥal-Bukhārī and authoritative commentaries such as Fatḥal-Bārī, alongside contemporary academic articles and extremist publications such as Dābiq magazine. The discussion explores the perspectives of ḥadīth scholars on the characteristics of distortion, analyzing both isnād (chain of transmission) and matn (text) dimensions. The findings reveal that distortion typically occurs when ḥadīths are interpreted literally without proper contextual understanding or reference to scholarly interpretations. Ḥadīth scholars have played a crucial role in filtering, verifying, and elucidating the true meaning of jihād, grounded in rigorous ḥadīth sciences. This study underscores the necessity of returning to authentic ḥadīth sources and adopting a comprehensive and nuanced understanding in order to prevent the misuse of the concept of jihād and to ensure that Islamic teachings are not misrepresented by any party.
