This article elaborates the use of ozone as an alternative treatment according to the Islamic perspective. Ozone is a type of gas molecule that plays an important role in controlling excessive ultraviolet rays from the sun that protects the biological system of the Earth. In modern medicine, ozone has been widely used for various purposes such as treatment for drinking water and cosmetics therapies. However, the use of ozone as a medicinal therapy is still controversial and has been opposed by medical expertises since it is harmful and toxic to humans. This study is aimed at examining the history of ozone therapy development, as well as analysing the use of ozone therapy in Malaysia. In addition, this study discusses the benefits and disadvantages of ozone to humans as well as analysis of Sharia on ozone therapy treatment. This qualitative study depends on document analysis, interviews and observation. The results of the study show that ozone therapy is not an appropriate therapy as there are more adverse effects than good ones. The study is expected to help stakeholders such as patients, medical practitioners, health departments and Islamic religious departments to increase their understanding about the use of ozone as a medicinal therapy. IAEME Publication.en_US
