Abstract
This study highlights the integration of knowledge in Islam’s second most holy scripture called ‘Prophetic Traditions’ (the sayings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH). To attain this aim, it explores a new model for indexing the ‘Prophetic traditions’ based on its scientific content specifically issues related to medical sciences. This study used qualitative methods to analyse the content related to medical sciences in the most authentic compilations on Prophetic traditions namely Sahih al-Bukhari. All scientific content related to science are enlisted according to sub-areas of modern medical sciences. The used sub-areas are provided by the Malaysian Development Research Classification System 5th Edition through MOSTI. It is expected that this index could be a helpful tool for scientists to discover new domains in their discipline. Likewise, it would provide an avenue to the scholars of Islamic Prophetic traditions to review and renew the existing knowledge in their field.
