Fasiliti Inovasi Kitar Semula (FIKS): Suatu Pendekatan Baharu Terhadap Pencapaian Teori Al-Daruriyyat Dalam Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Domestik Di Malaysia

Every year, solid waste generation is increasing due to expansion of population and industries globally. Such a situation is even worse with the emergence of climate change and global warming issues which belief to harm the sustainability of life on earth, including humankind. Fasiliti Inovasi Kitar Semula (FIKS) is the first facility of its kind in Malaysia as a new paradigm for solid waste managementintroduced by Alam Flora. It comprises seven major facilities; Knowledge Hub, Knowledge Coach, Creative Coach,3R Boutique, Recycling Center, Material Recovery Facility, and Anaerobic Digestion Plant, which aims to improve the community's quality of life through waste recovery. Previous literature shows a lack of study insolid waste management based on Islamic principles even it has a strong foundation in Islam. Therefore, this empirical study aims to analyze the extent to which FIKS can contribute to the well-being of society through the theory of al-daruriyyat as an indicator to the preservation of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and human property. A qualitative approach was used throughout the study by making interviews the. The results of the study found that there is a significant relationship between the ability of FIKS on the preservation of al-daruriyyat in society. The findings of this study are an added value to solid waste management by highlighting Islamic principles towards its empowerment, especially Malaysia as an Islamic country.
