The noble Qur'an warned against political tyranny, as it deepens dictatorship and undermines people's freedom and capabilities. The researcher reflects on Surah Ash-Shu'ara and finds that it addresses the dangers of political tyranny represented by Firaun and exposes his tyrannous policy. The Surah presents an approach to resist this injustice. The story of Firaun is the longest in Surah Ash-Shu'ara, as it is told in (57) Ayahs (Ayah 10 – 66), followed by the same two Ayahs that conclude each other story to warn against following in the footsteps of the corrupt and remind us of Allah's infinite power and wisdom. Therefore, the study aims to highlight the dangers and forms of political tyranny, analyze Firaun tyrannous policy, discuss Islam's approach in fighting tyranny and explain the role of the society in resisting tyranny. The researcher adopts the descriptive analytical approach. The study is concluded with several results including that political tyranny is the greatest trial for the Muslim nation. Its forms include: rejecting advice, brainwashing and destroying the state institutions. It also concludes that tyrannous policy is the same throughout times and places. Therefore, the Islamic preachers need to be well-prepared academically, psychologically and religiously. Efforts of all entities including unions, organizations and political parties must all be brought together to fight tyranny in every state.
