Sufism According To Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali

Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali passed through many different stages of thought in his life and ended up with Sufism. By his writing and books, he guides the people towards Sufism. At the end he became one of the pioneers of Sufism and its defenders. Imam Ghazali did not stand at this point, he renewals the Concept of Sufism and reforms its many mistakes. The aim of this paper was to shed light on Imam Al-Ghazali's impress in Sufism and the reformation he made in the concept of Sufism. The researchers used the descriptive and inductive approach to reach that goal. One of the most important results of this research is that Imam Al-Ghazali is the one who made the concept of Sufism more tolerant and more moderate based on the foundations of the Qur’an and Sunnah and making it far from exaggeration and extremism.
