Abstract
The aim of current study is to gather the opinions and the perception of teachers about the difficulty of learning collocations among students and the needs of teaching this topic to the learners of Arabic as a second language at pre-university level, as well as exploring appropriate ways to teach Arabic collocations from teacher's perspectives. Purposive sampling method was used for this study which the participants are consisted of all teachers who are teaching the Arabic language program at the Tamhidi Center, Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM). The researchers used the open-ended questionnaire to collect the required information to obtain more accurate and in-depth responses without being restricted to a specific answer. The results of this study showed that the teachers' perception and belief towards collocation's teaching were negative as the curriculum of teaching Arabic vocabulary in Malaysia Education still rely on traditional methodologies. The results of this study also found that teachers have positive attitudes towards the necessity of teaching Arabic collocation to the Arabic Second Language Learners especially at the pre-university level.
