Peran Sosial Perempuan Kampung Laut (Sebuah Penegasan Jati Diri)

Kampung Laut consists of four villages. The population of Kampung Laut is 18,872 in 2021, consisting of 9,881 men (52.4%) and 8991 women (47.6%). So, based on the gender, they are almost equal. Women of Kampung Laut are the backbone of family kitchen life, but they also go to sea as fisherwomen. Some times, they conducted other productive activities such as opening a shop. The women of Kampung Laut are known as tough women, willing to do anything good job that is profitable for their family. In short, the women of Kampung Laut are multitalent women, okay in front and behind. So actually, the women of Kampung Laut have done extraordinary social and political work. Kampung Laut women are the pillars of socio-political life in their area. Because of the important role of women, life becomes very dynamic in Kampung Laut. It can be seen that there is a gender equality between man and woman in Kampung Laut. They have shown the big role in the social and political area. These social roles can become a movement that is very beneficial for the realization of justice and social welfare. This is the identity of Kampung Laut women which able to build the social solidity. It is also able to influence the public policy. Public policies must be oriented towards the benefit of the people. So, the process of making public policies must be escorted by all elements of civil society, including the women of course.
