dc.description.abstractThis study aims to identify the relationship between father involvement and resilience among residents at rehabilitation centers in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. This study applies quantitative research methods using descriptive analysis and correlation. The objective of the study is to (i) measure the dimensions of father involvement, (ii) identify the level of resilience among residents in rehabilitation centers and (iii) analyze the relationship between father involvement and the level of resilience. The respondents of this study were 205 residents at rehabilitation centers in PUSPEN Serendah and Jelebu. A set of questionnaires were distributed, consist the Father Involvement Inventory (IPB) and the Resilience Scale. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 software. The results of the study found that the highest mean score for father involvement was the dimension of spending time and chatting together (17.60 ± 5.69) and second, developing talent and future planning (14.68 ± 4.67). The lowest mean score is the dimension of support from the aspects of reading and school work (7.54 ± 2.26) and provision of basic needs, (7.99 ± 2.23). Overall, the resilience scale score at moderate level (Mean= 135.10, SD = 24.74) There is a significant relationship between father involvement and resilience among residents in rehabilitation centers in PUSPEN Serendah and Jelebu. Based on the findings of this study, some implications and recommendations for future studies have been discussed.
