Abstract

The integration between transmitted and intellectual knowledge is very vital in the current global society. According to some scholars, it is “about reestablishing Islamic values in society”. Because it has tremendous effects on the human minds to adapt the teachings of Islam and increases their belief in the Quran and Sunnah. Recently, many researchers have shown an increased interest in for the integrating contemporary knowledge such as medical, engineering, astronomy, and so on with transmitted knowledge under titles such as scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah; scientific interpretation of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah; and the integration between intellectual knowledge and transmitted knowledge. This article aims to contribute to integrating Sunnah and the medical science study in black seed regarding to its medicinal beneficial effect for illness. The researcher used the library and inductive methods to collect data related to the black seed in the medical sciences and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW, and analytical and descriptive methods used to integrate the collected information. The results of the study shows that there is a great similarity between what the Prophet SAW said fourteen hundred years ago about medicinal benefit of black seed and what current medical doctors discovered in their studies on the black seed.
