قصة ليلى والمجنون بين الأدبين العربي والملايوي:دراسة مقارنة

Layla Majnun is the famous story in Arabic Literature. The story is about the
affectionate, romantic, loving, and devoted life between Layla and Qais. It is also
shared the same sentiments in the story of Layla Majnun in Malay Literature. The
study aims to introduce the story of Layla Majnun in Arabic and Malay literature, and
to discover the general literature aspects of both stories. Also to study the similarities
and the differences in the story of Laila Majnun in Arabic Literature and Laila Majnun
in Malay Literature, and the impacts of the Arabic version of story Laila Majnun
toward the Malay film of Laila Majnun (1962) by B.N Rao. The researcher adopted
the descriptive and comparative to examine the characteristics in the story of Layla
Majnun in both versions. Based on the comparative study on the story of Laila
Majnun in Arabic Literature and the Malay film of Laila Majnun (1962) by B.N Rao,
researcher found that the similarities in the story of Laila Majnun in Arabic Literature
and Laila Majnun in Malay Literature are more prominent than the differences, in
term of the tittle of the story, the theme, characters, flow of events and so the story
background. Therefore it explained that the impacts of the Arabic version of story
Laila Majnun toward the Malay film of Laila Majnun (1962) by B.N Rao.
