Abstract
This study was conducted to explore the experiences of the wives of incarcerated prisoners due to drug abuse and examine the psychological crisis experienced by them. This study was conducted around the Sepang District of Selangor. A total of 3 respondents were selected using the Snowball Sampling method. All respondents are spouses of PUSPEN Dengkil, Selangor residents who are undergoing drug rehabilitation treatment. This qualitative study uses the face-to-face interview method as a research instrument. All the data received is analyzed in detail based on the statements given by the respondents. From the data, respondents experienced emotional crisis, social issues and stigma and financial crisis. To face the issue, positive and negative adaptation patterns were also done by the respondents during the absence of their husbands. Symptoms of anxiety and depression were also shown throughout the episode of their husband's imprisonment. The results of this study are expected to be used as a guide to directly involve parties such as the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) and the Social Welfare Department (JKM) in designing appropriate intervention programs to help this group.
