Abstract:
Phishing is a cybercrime in which, phishers try to steal users' personal information usually to gain financial benefits. Heuristics, blacklist and white list methods are commonly used to fight phishing attacks. These methods however may not always be the perfect choices to detect emerging spam and phishing emails. Applying immunity approach can achieve good results because immune systems are able to learn from previously detected exposures. This work proposes an anti-phishing immune system that generate immunological memory cells that store the Full_Domain_Name of Message-ID field of unwanted emails. Full_Domain_Name of email is a globally unique field which is very difficult to be changed, thus it can be confidently used to trace the sources of email messages. Generated memory cells are then used to trigger quick responses against subsequent attacks from same sources. Proposed system has shown its efficiency to detect phishing emails after it has learned from training experiment. It was able to detect many of phishing emails even they have by pass the heuristic-based anti-phishing module. 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
