This study discusses about the miracles of the Qur'an in terms of influence and impact on listeners and readers, especially from the point of cure disease. The use of Quranic verses to treat the disease have been done. The Quran is shifa' that healer of physical and spiritual diseases. The main objective of this study is to explain the meaning of i'jaz ta'thiri from the perspective of the Quran and the Sunnah. In addition, this study also tried to investigate the physical effects of Quran recitation on comatose patients. According to the available literatures, this is the first study to investigate the change of certain vital signs in comatose cases in Malaysia.Earlier studies on use of music therapy and the effects of Quran recitation on Electroencephalography (EEG) of normal subjects were reviewed. This research aims to study the use of Quran in the treatment of comatose patients. The study was conducted by analysis of four coma patients in one hospital in the Klang Valley who meet the inclusion criteria. Analysis was done by assessing Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and the changes in the physiologcal parameters from electronic devices that measure patients' clinical status that include blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate. The focus of the study is to identify precisely the use of Quranic verses for treatment of ailments. Therefore, the vital signs of comatose cases were monitored before, immediately after and 30 minutes after recitation of selected verses of holy Quran. The results showed significant changes in the measurements of high blood pressure which returned to normal, with preservation of other normal measurements of the heart and respiration. Further large scales studies with more quantitativeand qualitative analysis are highly required.en_US
