A number of Environmental Law principles recognized at the international level are studied to perceive its adoption in the forest legislation of Peninsular Malaysia. The National Forestry Policy 1978 (Revised 1992), the National Forestry Act 1984, the National Policy on Biological Diversity and the Malaysia Plan along with the Environmental Law principles such as sustainable development, precautionary principles, polluter pays and intergenerational equity are examined and discussed to satisfy the premise of this study.
