No. 1 (June 2022)It is affirmed between scholars that al-Isti’nas (leniency in the usage of al-Maghazi and al-Siyar as supporting evidence in argument) of the narration of al-Maghazi and al-Siyar is a process applied by Hadith scholars previously and contemporarily. Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah is among the Muslim scholars who apply al-Isti’nas of the narration of al-Maghazi and al-Siyar in his book Zad al-Ma’ad. This study aims at revealing the methodology of Ibn al-Qayyim in the process of al-Isti’nas of the narration of al-Maghazi and al-Siyar in his book Zad al-Ma’ad. This study focuses on terms of al-Isti’nas in his point of view and its areas. This study concludes that al-Isti’nas of the narration of al-Maghazi and al-Siyar in Ibn al-Qayyim’s point of view is abide with certain terms and areas.
